I have every type of dance exercise DVDs you could possibly think of...have had them for many years. Recently, I've also begun to enjoy Zumba as well. I play all my DVDs in the comfort of my own home on my carpeted basement. I figured that way I have no excuse NOT to exercise. A while back, I had bought carpet gliders to put on my sneakers so I could easily move on my carpet. Recently, I saw a video from Consumer Reports recently how not wearing the right type of dancing shoe could really hurt you...your back, your legs, etc. Even though I've been careful and have not gotten hurt, I didn't want to take a chance so I went in search of the perfect dance shoe for Zumba, etc. After reading a lot of reviews on dances shoes on the internet, it seemed that Nike was the clear leader, with Ryka and Bloch being rated highly too. However, I've come to rely on all you guys who write your reviews on Amazon. You get the best and the worst of every product, and even though there are other sites that provides this too, Amazon is clearly #1. So after doing my homework, I read through every review and decided that these Capezio Women's DS24 Rockit Dance Sneakers had the very best ratings of all the dance shoes. The majority said they were super comfortable. So I took a chance and when they arrived, I quickly played one of my Zumba DVDs, then another and another...not only are they super comfortable, but I can now pivot beautifully on my carpet. My carpet is a thick pile and it has thick padding too. If I can glide on this carpet with these shoes on, anyone can! I took everyone's advice and ordered a size 8, even though I am size 7.5. I will say that the shoes are a little big so I may be the exception to the sizing up rule unless if my feet are shrinking! But with heavier socks, they are just fine. I didn't want to send them back to only find out the 7.5 are too small. They are lightweight, provide ample support, but don't constrict you when you need to move or glide across the floor. I wish I had bought them sooner, but I figured the carpet gliders on my sneakers were enough. Not true! I also want to thank Amazon for giving all of us the forum to say what we need to say...the good, the bad and the ugly. I rely on Amazon's reviews for 99% of my purchases. And nothing beats Amazon's delivery. I ordered the shoes on a Thursday, and they were delivered to me on a Friday. Now that's excellent service! If you take any dance classes, buy these shoes...you will not regret your purchase. I think I'll go dancing now.....!
I am re-ordering these shoes for Zumba (I am an instructor teaching 8 Zumba classes per week) for a non-wood floor studio. They perform perfectly on non-wood floors - allow easy movement, especially pivoting with a nice glide vs. jerking and pulling the knees as in other shoes I've tried (shoes that are substantially higher in cost). As to the Capezios - ORDER 1 SIZE LARGER. I have wide feet - these fit perfectly. Very light. 100% recommended. I teach other formats of exercise in addition to Zumba - and again, they are perfect for other formats as well as long as you are on non-wood floor. On wood floors, they SLIDE absolutely too much. I, personally, couldn't gain my footing on the wood floor. For wood floor, go to something different (your choice). I use Stinger XLT for my wood floor Zumba classes. No complaints on the Capezios and the price is very reasonable.
I followed the advice of the dance teacher reviewer who said get your normal size and wear them snug, but the toe pinched too much and I had to order a half size larger. The new ones are a little loose but I laced them tightly and in class I quickly forgot about that issue. So I have finally found a comfortable, helpful shoe for all the turns and spins, along with other steps, in line dance. Cowboy boots are cute but feel like torture and gym shoes are too sticky. I noticed the only person in class who looked comfortable and agile had on split sole dance shoes. The arch support is really good, which is surprising, and I had much more energy and spring. I was able to execute the moves much better and felt great after class. Many reviewers mentioned Zumba: I have been fine in Zumba for many years without shoes like these but I’m sure I’ll enjoy wearing them there at times. I only wish I had ordered the two sizes at once and returned one rather than going through the hassle and expense of exchanging. The sizing IS strange, but other than that I love these shoes.
I really like the lite weight, classic look, great arch support, I have flat feet, so they feel great on. I bought them for Zumba and they have a nice slid for dance but not to much. I find myself wearing them around the house. I did order a whole size larger as recomended and they are great. I would reccomend them for dance and walking around, but care taken on a stair well, the shoe is a little slippery and the way the shoe is designed in the arch area doesn't fit well on a step. I would get another pair and the price is just right!
Shoes were too narrow from arch to toes. Couldn’t stand up in shoes as toes were too squeezed together. Wear a 10 regular shoe, ordered an11 as recommended in previous comments. Had the shoe fit properly think it is a good dancing shoe, felt good in the arch (I have a high arch) properly snug around ankle.
What a wonderful pair of dancing sneakers!!!! I was afraid of ordering these shoes online because there are no shoes that fit me. It may be sandals, dress shoes, sneakers, etc. and I am never satisfy because all shoes hurt my feet. I received them yesterday around 5:30 pm and wore them to my zumba class at 7:00 pm. OMG!!! I was able to do all the moves with ease. How long they will last I don't know, but I am very satisfy with the comfort. If they break apart in a little while, I will go ahead and order another pair because I am so satisfied with the comfort. I just said that because of the comments I read, but to me they seem very sturdy and of good quality. I have wide feet and ordered the extra 1/2 size. They're not heavy like my sneakers and are a perfect fit.
