I love the brown leather, super comfortable. An 11 is waaay too big & wide - they don't come on a 10.5, a 10 is too tight!
This is the 1st Clark's enclosed shoe I have ever purchased. I have several Clarks open toe casual and dress sandals in size 8, but never bought their boots before. I was very hesitant on what size to buy, especially because this toe box is on the pointy side. I opted to buy the boot in 8.5. So glad I did. The 8 would have been much too tight to wear with a thin/med sock for the winter. I have not "worn" it yet because it is still summer temps while writing this. However, I did find the toe box to still be a little stiff and tight. Fearing exchanging for a size 9 would have been way too big. I did put my shoe stretcher in and left it in for about 48 hours. It softened up the toe box enough to know the 8.5 was the right size. I will still need some break in time once I do start wearing it, but think it will be OK. I bought them to wear with jeans/cords in a casual setting when I did not feel like wearing my 3" heeled boots. The heel height is about 1.75 which was what I was looking for.
I have a large foot so getting shoes and boots to fit is a constant struggle. This boot runs just a tad large but not so much that I didn't keep it. It is a very comfortable boot to wear all day as well.
I like the Clarks brand of women's boots because they are pretty comfy. These are comfy except when I wear them too many hours and have to be on hard tile or concrete flooring. I was disappointed that they are not a true black color, mine look more like a dark grayish or maybe what is now called a "washed black." I would buy these again if they had them in a darker black color.
These are quite comfortable and much nicer than expected for the price.
after 3 returns of other boots due to china sizing/quality...I am doing what another gal did = using heavy duty wood/metal shoe stretchers and a good spray. These at least look like they could last a long while if fit was more normal. Update: shoe stretchers worked very well
These are decent boots if you just want a cute pair for the short term. They are not quite the quality I usually expect from Clark's brand, though. The outer feels very flimsy, as if it would get torn up with light use, and the insole is stiff and painful.I have owned several pairs of Clark's and consistently wear 7.5 wide, but these were very tight, even allowing for the fact that they weren't broken in.If they were $20-$40 boots from a lower quality brand, I'd feel like they met expectations; but for $100+ Clark's, these were not worth trying to keep.Only buy if you size up a little and don't plan to do much more than sitting around looking cute. Your feet will not be happy if you try to do more than that.
I ordered a size too big initially, because despite the fact my spouse's shoe size is 6 1/2 I had to order a larger size due to her width. We were pleasantly surpised that the correct hoe size actually fit. They are also very attractive as well as comfortable.
