I was looking for a shoe for clay court tennis with plenty of room in the toe box, and this shoe works. However, I've had trouble with the tongue shifting way to the side during long matches. I also had some rubbing on my inside ankle bone that caused a blister (probably the 5th time I played in them). I'm somewhat disappointed in these but maybe once they are broken in more they will be okay.
K-Swiss has a great fit for wider feet. Be careful though: I tried ordering this for hard court and accidentally ordered a newer model with a built in “inner sock.” That one was quite a bit narrower. I gifted them to my babysitter who has a normal foot width and she likes them and then bought the corresponding hard court K-Swiss shoe (without the sock) and it’s great.
No break in time. Very comfortable clay court sneaker. No sliding easy clean
I like the way they fit, but I bought these to play pickleball, indoors and outdoors, the soles make a really loud squeak on any surface, no one will let me wear them playing since it is so annoying and distracting. I have tried sanding the soles and walking on gravel roads to try and get this stopped but nothing works. Very disappointing
Ouch. Same pair in hard court version fits fine. Clay court version in the same size is stiff and painful. I didn't realize the fit would feel so different when they look almost identical.
