Years after playing tennis I decided to try pickleball but hearing about all the injuries I wanted a good court shoe that would not add to the potential for slips and twisted ankles. These fit well right out of the box, have good cushioning and worked well on an artificial Kay court.
This is the second pair of KSwiss Express Light shoes I have purchased. I usually wear an 8 and I have a tiny bit of a wider forefoot and a high arch... and right out of the box these were a perfect fit in the regular width, a rare thing for me.I play about about 6 hours of PB per week, the sole wore down a decent amount after 8-10 months of play, I was ready to replace them, even tho worn they are not slippery on a dry court.I did purchase the KSwiss Pickleball Supreme next, and I like the way they feel around the ankle, the toe box seems less constrained than the Express Light, the laces start a bit higher up, so hard to tighten the area just behind the ball of the foot. I had to go up a half size to 8.5, as my toe was hitting the end of the shoe. The Supreme is also comfortable out of the box, compared to Asics, Sketchers and Prince, they were not comfortable at all.The KSwiss Supreme is comfortable yet I think I prefer the Express light overall.
I have a small bunion and these shoes are wide enough to accommodate that without pinching. The toe box is extremely comfortable .I feel there is good support and stability in the shoes. What I am having a problem with is the the two shoelace openings on the top of my left foot. They are rubbing against my ankle. I put two bandaids on the spot where it hits my ankle and have even placed a piece of tape on the openings as well. But, it is still irritating. But, with that said, I would still recommend these shoes for playing pickleball.
This is the 3rd pair of these pickleball sneakers that I've bought. They are great. They have a good selection of colors but most importantly they fit so well. I wear a 7 in regular shoes but an 8 in sneakers. I always change out the insoles in all my sneakers for more cushioned ones because I have a tender spot on the ball of my left foot. I also insert orthoticsts under the insoles to help prevent plantar fasciaitis and improve arch support. So it's a lot going on but there is plenty of room for both the orthotic and a cushier insole. They are very comfortable and stylish.
My feet have been killing me on the court. I tried a couple of them and haven't liked anything until this shoe. I did a lot of research to find the right shoe that had the 3 things I was looking for. I did noticed these were rated #1 for people who have plantar fascitis and play pickleball on a couple different websites and wide as an option. They instantly felt comfortable. My feet had already been feeling horrible prior to these and I was able to play pickledball for 3 1/2 hours without me finally saying, "my feet hurt" I've warn them 2 different times on the court now. Both 3-4 hours each time. I use to roll my ankle a lot and love the wider part on the outsides to help with the stability I was defiently looking for.I haven't found a con yet. I'm finally happy I found a shoe for all my needs.
Update!! I have played in these shoes for over 1 month now, playing almost daily 2-4 hours, and have noticed a few cons, unfortunately. 1- the biggest issue is the fit around the outside toe area. Not enough stiffness perhaps, but my feet get incredibly sore and cramping when i wear these shoes and play for a long period of time. If i wear other shoes, i don't get the same foot pain. Tried inserts and did not help the cramping in these shoes. 2- these show sweat stains almost immediately. The top of the shoe is fabric and it looks gross to me to see the sweat stains. If the foot pain wasn't so bad I'd wear these until they needed to be replaced.Unfortunately I cannot play in them with how my feet hurt so I will go back to my OG kswiss coutt express shoes.Original review after only wearing a few times: Great pickleball shoe! I Love K Swiss for court sports in general and have gone through a few pairs of K Swiss tennis shoes for pickleball. This one in my favorite. This shoe is so lightweight and breathable. Very comfortable to play in. No break-in time required. I play every day and played in a tournament the second time I wore these shoes- with no blisters or discomfort at all! They are stable/supportive,, but allow the right amount of sliding on the court!
These are great, stable pickleball shoes with a larger toe box. Problem is they run small. I finally bought a half size larger and now they are working well.
Lightweight; comfortable; fits as expected. The one thing I don't care for is the "high top" part in the back. It tends to rub against my foot and when I wear for longer periods can irritate it. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the shoe.
