I already owned a couple pairs of Vionic sandals which I love for the arch support (I have very high arches) and I was in the market for some sneakers that were equally as comfy. I decided on these because of the good reviews, and I am NOT disappointed that I did. Out of the box comfortable! Soft and arch support feels just right. They are cuter in person and on the foot than I expected too!Sizing:I wear between an 8 and a 8.5 in most sneakers and I have a slightly wide foot so I was really unsure of which size and width to order. After reading many reviews, I decided to go with the 8.5 regular width (despite having wide feet) because the shoe does have some "stretch" to it. I am happy with the size. I think the 8s would definitely be too small. The width feels good too. MAYBE a wide with 8.5 would be even better but the regular width feels great so I have no need to try it.So....go with your normal size for these sneakers. If you're in between half sizes, go with the larger. If you have regular width or slightly wide feet, go with the regular width width. I think if you have very wide feet, bunions, ect you should definitely go with the wide width.Hope this helps!!
Comfy may be a bit of a misnomer - there’s not a ton of cushioning in these shoes, but it’s made up for in the support and room. I ordered an 8 1/2 wide expecting that my foot would still be a little squished and I can honestly say it hasn’t been restrictive. There’s actually enough room in the toe box for my feet to spread when walking. The elastic gores and ‘laces’ keep the shoe from feeling like it’s going to pop off my foot. Would absolutely buy a second pair, especially if they looked a little more professional.
Vionic makes a good entry-level orthopedic shoe.I used to exclusively wear Sperry Topsiders as my go-to slip-on shoe but their quality standards went way down about 10 years ago and with age, I find the flatness hurts my feet.A friend of mine who's had foot-surgery suggested Vionics because they're priced well enough that I can afford to replace all my hurty shoes with orthopedic substitutes. These are great substitutes for boating shoes! Please note that when you first purchase these, there's a protective coating on the soles which are designed to wear off with the first few wears. This is intentional. If you are relying on these for sailing and need them to grip, I suggest wearing down the coating to expose the rubber soles before boarding.
I am not a sneaker person. I find them unforgiving and hot on my feet. These are perfect for me.... cool, comfortable and nice looking. I could not believe they were washable but they are. I washed a pair in washing machine on cold cycle and air dried them which takes about two days. Came out like new. I wear only for short walks and distances. The arch support is not that great. I had an occasion where I had to walk on an unpaved area for some time. I might as well have been in bare feet. I felt every stone and rock through the soles. Hence the 4 star review.
I have had several pairs of these sneakers, they are easy to wear and small in your luggage. Their best feature is that they are actually comfortable without socks -- I like the no socks style but many shoes don't really breathe well enough to make that an all day comfortable option. This do! I have worn them walking around all day touristing and been very comfortable. They could have a little more arch support, but that's the only negative I can find.
Great fit. A little snug at first if wearing socks but perfect after a little wear. My absolute favorite pair of Vionics yet. Just ordered another color design. Super cute!!
My shoe size runs between an 8.5-9 regular width and on this shoe a 9 was perfect. The minute I stepped into them I was overjoyed with the comfort and support they provided and they’re super stylish. Yey, I’ll be ordering other colors in this shoe.
I love Vionic shoes but somehow missed that the grommets are bright gold, which I did not care for.
