I had a pair of Titans, bought from the boot truck at work. At the time, they were the only women's work boots available. I bemoaned my lack of choices, and wore them. I was satisfied with their performance and feel but thought nothing of it. I got a second pair, again from the boot truck, and was similarly satisfied.Fast forward a couple of years, and working at a new job site, and the boot truck only stocks a more expensive competing brand of Vibram soled shoes. I got a pair, and they seemed a little heavy and the steel toe tapered such that it pinched my toe a bit. Free is free, and I got the pair, but when the pace picked up at work, I was entirely fatigued at the end of the day. They were just too heavy and pinched besides. The supplied nylon laces would not stay tout, so I scavenged the laces from my bald Timberlands. Ridiculous! With my own money I purchased a pair of Titans like I used to have and the difference is immediately apparent. The Timberlands just have better support around the heel and arch, the steel toe is rounded and roomy, and best of all they keep me light on my feet. I have never been so happy to get a new pair of work boots.I have narrow feet, but the medium width works well for me. I normally wear a 9 in most shoes but the 8.5 is best for me in the Titans. My job is moderately demanding and the soles easily last 2 years. For coworkers with heavy physical demands, they last about a year. I have heard that Vibram soled shoes last longer, but with how heavy they are it just isn't worth it to me to find out.
I've been wearing the same model boot for many years. I work in ship repair and always a ton of walking and standing. These are the most comfortable boots I've found. I buy a 1/2 size larger to accommodate for socks and insoles, (yes, I do need to buy different insoles after awhile because the originals wear out before the boots do). I like the fact that, for steel toed boots, they're pretty lightweight. I've never really had a breaking in period. They're comfy right out of the box. Never had an issue with the quality. Great foot protection at a, (to me), very reasonable price.
I have been buying these boots for 9 years. There is never a break in period, they fit perfectly out of the box. No blisters ever and I work in road construction, I walk a lot of miles, I have plantar fasciitis and these are the only women’s boots that I can place orthotics in.
These boots eat worn 10 hours/day, 5 days/week and are as comfortable as tennis shoes. Lots of cushion and very light for steel toes. Two things to consider:1. The toe box is very roomy. If you've got a narrow foot, even the med will feel huge to you.2. (The reason this only gets 4 stars) they're definitely not the most durable steel toes you'll buy. My last pair only lasted 8 months and it only took me a week to start tearing the leather on these. I work in a place where they'll get dirty, but not in a job that would tear them apart. Don't expect to get years out of these. That said, I bought this pair to replace the same shoe and my next pair of shoes will be another pair of the same.
I wear these shoes when riding and working with my horse. I love the safety toe. It has prevented my toes from being pinched on a couple of occasions, and helped when I have accidentally dropped my horse's hoof on my foot (no more hoof-shaped bruises on the top of my feet!). They fit well in western stirrups, and do have enough of a separated heel to prevent slide-through.I had a pair from 7 or 8 years ago that just gave out this past summer. The soles had worn out (I was slipping on dry grass), and the leather behind the toes was starting to crack. That pair was a 7.5. So, for my birthday, I requested an exact replacement. Well, somewhere along the way the sizing changed, and I had to return them for an 8 (no big deal, but the price changed on them, so I had to cover the rest. But, Amazon offered free next day shipping on them!). In the proper size, this pair fits quite well. I have had to break them in more than I thought I would. The first day I wore them for an hour or so at the barn, and had ugly blisters on my heels despite wearing tall wool socks. They are better after about 15 (non-sequential) hours of breaking in.
My daughter uses them for work, she loves the look and comfort. It would be terrific if there were a few other color options if possible, like a lighter color or even black. I highly recommend this product, especially if you need to have a steel toe boot, great alternative.
The boot I received is not the same as the boot in the picture. I figured the style changed since the last time I bought this boot but this is NOWHERE near the same boot I previously purchased. It is not even a little bit waterproof, dew from grass in the morning results in wet feet for the rest of the day. And to top it off it is the most UNCOMFORTABLE work boot I have ever worn. My feet feel like I have been walking barefoot on concrete all day. There is absolutely no support for wearing all day. I had been wearing the Timberland Pro Women's titan 6 inch Waterproof boots for over 2 years and they were finally starting to wear out so I had no choice but to try purchase a new pair, hoping it would be the same as the previous. After wearing this version for 4 months, thinking they will break in and at least be semi-comfortable I have given up and they are going in the trash. I will never purchase another pair of boots like this. I rated it with one star just to emphasize that it is terrible-if I could have selected zero stars I would have.
My last 2 pairs of work boots were Titan Pros. I was very satisfied. But I recently attempted to try something different just for variety. After 3 different try-ons and immediate returns, I realized NOTHING COMES CLOSE to the superior fit and comfort of the Titan Pro. Needless to say, my narrow, hard to fit feet are HAPPY my new plPros arrived. Instant fit and comfort. So glad I found them here!
