Timberland PRO Men's 6 Inches Helix Safety Boot Review

These are high quality boots. I have used Timberland PRO Titan safety boots in the past and they are relatively light weight for steel toed boots. Once you break them in a little bit they are very comfortable and can hold up to some punishment. I'm sure they would even last longer if I did my part and kept them clean and treated with mink oil or other waterproof leather protector. I just use and abuse and they hold up well and have protected my foot when a heavy oak log rolled back on me. Without the steel toe I'm certain I would have been in a lot of pain or possibly broken my toes. I like the comfort so much that I wear them a lot even when I don't need the safety toe protection. I did however just order a different pair of Timberland Pro's for around $65 (Amazon) that is the non-safety toe variety.

the most comfortable boots I have worn. This is the third pair I have bought. The stock insoles are terrible so get a quality insole. Also, the laces do not last long either so get a backup pair as well. They stay tight on your foot all day and prevent slipper sock....(when your sock loosens up and bunches around your toes.) I use them operating heavy equipment and trucking.

These are really nice work boots. I believe this is my husbands 6th pair. He purchases 2 pair a year. He works outside a lot and on his feet half the time. They are comfortable and help keep his feet dry when it rains. The only problem we have is that this pair did not have insoles in them. That's a first. Never saw a pair of shoes that were sold without the insoles. These were shipped very quick and they were a good price, but since we had to buy insoles they weren't any cheaper than the stores which we usually pay $158 for.

I needed a composite toe work boot for my occupation as an Reactor Service Technician. I do a lot of standing over extended periods of time so it was imperative that I had a comfortable and durable pair of boots.First off, the fit is spot on, or at least it was for me. I prefer to wear these over any of my shoes. It took about 1 week for the boot to fully conform to my foot and ankle but once it did I could hardly notice it's existence. I have only just started to notice internal wear on the back in the heel but it's just barely noticeable so time will tell how far it erodes.A really nice feature is the top shackle which allows you to just pull the string up and over it to tie it and vice versa for untying. Trust me, this is very handy after spending 14+ hours in these, albeit a comfortable 14 hours, but after that amount of time my feet want free and getting out of these is a 10 second process.The grip is phenomenal, I have stepped over black ice at all sorts of angles to test it and while it slips the slip is predictable and usually short lived. There are some rugged splines in the arch of the sole which are very well engineered and I found them awesome for climbing ladders.The boot itself is visually pleasing, when I look at other guys footwear I never have any regrets.The only downside is that the toe of the boot is prone to wear, but I feel this is usually the case for any leather material. So I don't hold it against the boot or manufacturer.All in all, I love these, and when the time comes will probably stick with the same brand for my next pair.

As far a comfort goes, this boot is like a cloud. Im on my feet for around 6-8 hours a day. These boots are lightweight almost as if you are wearing shoes. Great ankle support. It has saved me from a sprained ankle many of times. This is my 2nd pair and will buy a new pair every year as long as Timberland makes them. My only complaint is that the leather is soft. So they do scuff easily, but remain waterproof. Highly recommend.

2nd pair of Timberland Pro - a long lasting boot in a rough shop floor environment. Better than the twice as expensive Danner's and more comfortable than the Red Wings I have purchased. I walk a lot, and this is the best safety toe boot I've owned.

I'm a Plant Engineer for a forging company in Texas. I've purchased Timberland Pro boots back in the '90's, but for the last 10+ years I've been going with Wolverines (specifically the McKay boot). After trying on these Timberland Helix boots at the local store, I decided to order from Amazon because of the better price. I tried the boots on last night: they fit well (I bought a 10-1/2D), feel excellent, look good (for now :) and are light.This morning as I'm walking into the plant, I can feel something sharp stabbing the inside of my right heel. I get in my office, take the boot off thinking there is something that I dropped in there, but there's nothing. At closer inspection, there is a sharp object protruding from the footbed at the inside right heel. When I press on it with my finger, it has a spring to it, but it's fairly rigid and my heel does not apply enough pressure to deflect it.Unfortunately, this appears to be a manufacturing defect. I'm very, very disappointed in this. I've ordered several of the Wolverine McKays from Amazon and never had any issue whatsoever. I've called my wife to bring me my old (year and half) boots so I can package these up and send them back. I'm not planning on trying another pair (the fact that you have to return it, wait on another - just irks me to no end).In manufacturing, sometimes there are defects in your products - no different with us. We deal with internal rework and scrap all the time, but what we try to mitigate most is external rework, and worse yet, external scrap. These shoes are scrap and I'm not wasting additional time, money and effort by ordering another pair, hoping that the quality control is right.

So they are very comfortable, but they were a tiny bit narrow for me. I'm right on the line between narrow/wide for shoe size, so with a safety toe I ended up having to go with the wide. I tried the regular first, but ended up switching to the wide version. Thankfully we get free returns, so no cost or hassle for me :)Other than that little hiccup, they are very comfortable right out of the box. They don't dig into my foot when I crouch down for something like my Keens did.
