When evaluating the Speedo Men's Water Shoe Hydro Comfort 4.0, several factors come into play. First, let's discuss comfort. The unique seaweed message footbed indeed lives up to its promise by offering exceptional cushioning, making these shoes ideal for all-day wear. Whether you are walking on sand or pavement, you'll find these shoes comfortable and supportive.
Aesthetically, the gray and blue combination is not only stylish but also practical; it hides dirt well while remaining visually appealing. This versatility extends beyond the beach as they can be worn casually around town.
On the performance side, the rubber sole provides great grip, ensuring safety when wet, which is crucial when navigating slippery surfaces near water. They also serve well as shower shoes, providing ease and comfort right out of the water.
However, one notable downside is that this model has been discontinued, making availability an issue for potential buyers. Additionally, the limited color options may not appeal to everyone.

Fit well, dry fast, and even the sand comes out easy enough. If i had to find one thing wrong it's that the soles come out almost every time you take your feet out. But since that's what makes it easy to get the sand out, I hardly consider that a con. Excellent shoe. Excellent value. We hiked up the beach and into the jungle on a path and they performed just like i'd expect any "gym" shoe would. Wore them without socks and had no issues with rubbing or blisters or anything.
These shoes are very nice. I mainly bought them for use in the shower (slippery tub; don't like flip flops; wanted something multi-purpose), use outside in the rain, use for hiking around streams, and use while riding a bicycle.Shower use: Though these shoes were not meant for the shower, they do prevent slipping in the tub when you're taking a shower. Not to mention, the shoes do not fill up with water because of the draining system in the sole. After you shower, you do have to shake the shoes a bit or you'll track some water on the floor.Bicycle and jogging use: These are great in warm weather. Wear them without socks to get a nice breeze on your feet when going bicycle riding. Make sure they're tightly secured on your feet though before you ride with them. I would not recommend these shoes for long or vigorous work-outs or jogging; they do not have much comfort and support. But moderate and short/medium length work-outs and jogging should be alright.Use in the rain: Have not tried this yet as it is too cold for now. However, based off of its properties, I would imagine it would work fairly well in the rain. The water drains through the holes in the sole. The only two issues are the mesh allows rain to get in easily... so do not wear socks when wearing these shoes! And also, these shoes were not designed for quick drying; they can take a while to dry unless you blow a fan on them.Hiking: Also have not tried this yet as it is too cold. But based off of the properties, I would imagine these shoes would be good for short and medium hikes. I would not recommend them for long hikes as they do not provide that level of comfort for your feet. But they are a good option for breathing shoes and shoes that can be worn when crossing streams etc.Overall, these are a decent pair of shoes that can be used for multiple purposes. I like the draining system that these shoes have, although unfortunately even though water drains quickly, the shoes can take several hours to dry without air blowing on them. I'm also not too keen on the laces; frequently, the top part of the tightening strap slips through the laces and I have to dig around and pull it back out. The mesh is very nice as it allows for ample airflow into the shoes. The mesh and the tongue is also soft for comfort. The sole doesn't provide much support though, for obvious reasons. And it is unwise to use your own insoles in these shoes because then water won't drain out of them.
Love these shoes! Definitely worth the money! We just recently went on a trip to Tennessee and bought these shoes for the trip. Very comfortable walking in and also swimming in. I forgot several times when we tubed down the river that I even had them on except when we needed to walk through some rocks and they were great!! I didn't "break" my shoes in and wore them all day doing different events and they didn't hurt my feet at all!I wear a size 10.5 shoe so I ordered the size 11 and they fit almost perfectly! There were 4 of us that bought these shoes and all of us love them!! I have very wide feet and they were very comfortable for me.I would say the only negative is that the inside of the show does not dry out as quickly as I would have expected. We had the shoes completely submerged in water throughout the day and when we went to wear them the next morning they were still damp on the inside. The next day we left them outside in the sun and it seemed to solve that issue.
These water shoes are really nice. They stay on securely because of the laces (not slip-on), but the closed lace system is also pretty quick and easy, even when wet. I wore these on vacation and they were really comfortable. They do drag a little in deeper water, but I think all shoes will do that. There are holes through the sole in various directions, which did help a good deal. Even when pulling through moving water they did not come loose or fall off.I am very pleased with these shoes.
I purchased these shoes for use at the beach and I was very impressed! They are very comfortable with good support, and look very stylish too. They worked and felt great walking in the water as well as the sand. I plan to use them for a white water rafting trip as well as some hiking as well. Although they are a water shoe they feel much more like a regular shoe. They have exceeded my expectations!
These shoes are basically as big and robust as a tennis shoe, it doesn't hurt at all to walk on any rocks that I found in the river. I just got back from a 5 day kayak trip and they held up really well. My biggest complaint about them is that it's impossible to get rocks out easily and it's very easy to get rocks into them, because they don't have elastic around the ankles like a traditional water shoe. You will find yourself taking these on and off quite frequently to clean rocks out of them. They are comfortable to wear without socks, and when I put socks on, they are slightly smaller than I'm used to with size 13 shoes. Overall, they seem to be built well and I have faith that they will hold up well and I abuse my water shoes to no end.
