When it comes to performance, the Merrell Men's Speed Strike Leather Sieve Water Shoe excels in various aquatic environments. With its innovative mesh and leather upper, this shoe effectively channels water away while maintaining breathability, ensuring your feet stay comfortable even during intense activities.
The elastic cord and lock lacing system enhance the overall fit, allowing you to easily adjust the tightness for optimal comfort. This feature proves especially useful when transitioning between different terrains, such as moving from rocky shores into deeper water.
The recycled materials used not only offer a sustainable option but also contribute to the light weight and flexibility of the shoe. The integrated EVA foam insole and lightweight EVA midsole add an extra layer of comfort, making these shoes ideal for long walks on the beach or hikes along the shore.
One of the standout features is the Merrell Air Cushion in the heel, which absorbs shock and provides stability, enhancing your overall experience whether you're walking on sand, gravel, or rock. Additionally, the shoe's sticky rubber outsole is specifically engineered for superior grip, giving you confidence as you navigate slippery or uneven surfaces.
While there are few drawbacks—such as limited color variety and potential sizing issues—these are minor when compared to the overall performance and comfort the Merrell Speed Strike offers. For individuals seeking a high-quality, versatile, and eco-friendly water shoe, this model stands out as a top contender.

Have been looking for a water shoe for rigorous multi-day whitewater rafting trips that include lots of time in the water and miles long hikes over rocky and unstable terrain. Have owned several other types of spendy rafting-specific water shoes and haven't yet found something that worked for fit and durability. Have bought lots of other Merrell shoes (mostly hiking boots and shoes) and Merrell's have always fit my feet well, so decided to give these a go.Bought them a couple of weeks before a 7-night trip in Idaho. Liked that these fit my feet like previous Merrell's that have owned. Bottom of these is sturdy like hikers rather than flimsy as some water shoes are. This was good for hiking and walking on pointy rocks and unstable ground. Take a while to dry out, but this wasn't a factor for me at all. Wore them without socks and they were very comfortable. Developed a single wear mark on my left foot after a few days that was easily handled with a bit of duct tape to pad the spot. Like that the toes are reinforced, which protected my feet when walking in the water where it's hard to see. No issues with durability, but it's only been one trip. Will be very pleased and a repeat customer if these last a couple of years or more.
This is the first pair of water shoes I've ever owned. I bought them for a river rafting trip along the Arkansas River near Salida, Colorado. These shoes worked great! As the raft's bilges pumped water into and out of the bottom of the raft, the shoes were very wet. But their design also moved water away from my feet. The shoes are so comfy, I enjoy wearing them around the house. They cost more than some water shoes, but I'm very happy that I spent the extra money to have such a great pair of shoes.
So I think I just got the bad pair of the litter. . . The shoes are great light weight, good support, and perfect for say a boundary waters canoe trip. But the one thing that really got me was on my right foot on my pinky toe, the seam didn't get sealed well or something cause for a week straight it was rubbing on my toe if I didn't have mole skin my toe surely would have fell off "wink". But my guess is, if I bought another pair it wouldn't be the case.
These shoes worked great for my water crossings even wearing them for the majority of the day after we were done with the creeks. Paired with quality merino wool socks, I was good to go.
It’s a poorly designed shoe. It hurts from inside . The sole of the shoe is good and grips well to the floor but when you don’t feel like wearing the shoe because the fabric inside hurts the feet, the whole purpose of the shoe is defeated. I’ll see if I’m able to ship it back.
They rock! Comfort and durability!
These water shoes are exactly what you’d expect from Merrell. They’re comfortable, durable, and stable in water situations. Unfortunately, they don’t come in wide insteps so you’ll have to order a size up of that a need for you.
My husband has been wearing his old Merle’s for years. He loves them. The first pair we got were to small. We sent them back and got the replacements in just a matter of days. They fit him well and he loves them!
