The Ryka Womens Sky Trail Walking Shoe stands out for its performance attributes and tailored fit for women. Its construction begins with a breathable mesh upper reinforced by suede overlays that provide durability against the elements while allowing airflow. The padded collar adds an extra layer of comfort, preventing chafing and discomfort during long treks.
When it comes to fit, the shoe is designed to accommodate a woman’s foot shape with a narrower heel and ample toe box. This aspect significantly improves comfort, particularly if you plan on wearing them for extended periods.
The memory foam insole delivers outstanding cushioning, which is especially beneficial on rocky or uneven terrains. Alongside this, the lightweight EVA midsole enhances the overall feel of the shoe without adding unnecessary weight.
In terms of performance, the TreadTech lug outsole exceeds expectations, providing excellent traction required for climbing steep paths or navigating muddy areas. This makes the shoe not only versatile but also dependable for various outdoor activities.
However, it's worth noting that some users have experienced a slight break-in period where the shoe may feel stiff initially. Additionally, the available colors might not satisfy those looking for a broader range of aesthetic choices.

The shoes are nice looking. I like the pink-ish color of Moonlite. However, the feel of the shoe is "squishy." Severe heel slippage, especially on the left shoe. I am between 9 and 9.5, ordered 9.5 which is the right length for my feet. I laced as tightly as possible, all the way to the highest eyelet. Then I added a heel grip at the back: still slipping, still squishy. I removed memory foam -- difficult because the glue is extremely strong -- and inserted Spenco insoles for firm arch support. The laces are too thin and delicate; I replaced those also. I am still trying to outfit them to be wearable, don't know if that will ever happen but these will have been my first and last Rykas. My guess is they're great if you have wide, substantial feet. Mine are narrow at heel and I need support.EDITED a few months later. The adaptations finally work for me and I am enjoying my Rykas; in fact, bought another pair. The new trick to help with fit are compression toeless ankle socks. These help with firm fit at the heel and provide extra arch support. None of this matters if your feet aren't as fussy as mine. The shoe is about mid-range quality. There is lots of toe room.
My Favourite Shoe Brand. Have purchased 12+ shoes over the past. True to size. Very comfortable walking shoe. Love the style and colour. The price was great. Get a lot of compliments and inquiries, “Where’d you buy them?” And I tell them .... Amazon on-line...👍🇨🇦
I've had many different styles of Rykas over the years, from when they first came out in the 90s, and I've loved every pair. These were my first trail hiking shoes and I'm fairly happy with them. Comfortable? Yes they are. Water resistant? I don't know, it was dry when I wore them. Supportive? Yes they are! My one complaint about these are that there is too much room in the toe box!Not something I'd typically complain about - I have high arches and that usually means my toes (or the top of my toes) are compromised in a rather snug shoe. But these? They are waaay too roomy in the toe! I could scrunch and curl up my toes under and still had enough room to wiggle. I ended up having to put in some thicker insole inserts to eat up some of that toe space just to walk comfortably without feeling like my shoes were flopping around. They didn't feel like they would fall off, as the lacing was snug, but the toe are was so spacious that I wouldn't actually feel safe wearing these out on the trail for fear of my foot twisting around inside the shoe while on uneven ground. That might be a selling point for the next buyer but I don't have bunions and don't need the extra space in the toe box. The rest of the shoe? Awesome. Great tread, comfortable insoles, breathable & durable fabric. Durable but not solid like my first pair of Rykas, which were all leather high top shoes I wore to the gym for my aerobics classes in the 90s, lol. But shoes aren't made like that anymore - I wish they were, because sometimes I don't want a sport shoe that's essentially a mesh sock glued to a lightweight foam sole. ;)
I absolutely love these shoes. They’re perfect for walking on trails or everyday activities. I have narrow heels and always have trouble getting shoes that won’t slip. These don’t slip. The memory foam insoles are super comfortable and give good arch support. Very happy with this product.
Still a good review because I love the Ryka brand & the Amazon experience. They looked the same, are lightweight with good support but were too short. pinched in the toe area & also seemed a bit wider. I wear a size nine and bought 9-1/2, both pair a half size larger. I even trimmed & filed my toenails just to make sure, because I so wanted them to work for me. The original Rykas are some of the most comfortable I've ever worn without having to break-in & my walkers get a lot of use. The store was out of stock on duplicates so I purchased these. This new pair were definitely different than the original. Funny because they looked identical. I returned to Amazon went back to the "famous" store and bought another 9-1/2 pair (in colors that wouldn't have been my first choice) and again they just slid on with ease. Not sure where this particular shoe was manufactured but my guess is not from same place, or maybe the wrong size label was sewn in. I'm very happy with Amazon's return policy, so I never worry about not being ultimately satisfied just wish this pair had worked out. Give the Ryka brand a try if you want a comfortable lightweight walker that has good tread. And thank you Amazon for taking such good care of your customers!
so supportive and comfortable. if you like a looser fit size up 1/2 size. great for trail running hiking or walking around very soft memory foam sole
Shoes are true to size, nice supported arch and a narrow heel. They are light weight yet sturdy. Great for outdoor walking and hiking.
