When evaluating the Rockport XCS Riggs Blucher Walking Shoe, it's clear that it's built for performance and comfort. The incorporation of truTECH® shock-absorbing technology means you can expect great support during your walks, reducing fatigue even after hours of use. Additionally, the slip-resistant rubber outsole ensures you stay stable on various surfaces, making it a reliable choice for both urban environments and nature trails.
The shoe's fabric type is easy to care for; simply toss them in the washing machine when needed, which adds to the convenience factor. However, while the waterproof feature is beneficial, it may not hold up in extreme wet conditions, so it's best suited for light rain or damp paths. I get back aches fairly quickly when on my feet for more than a few minutes at a time. Rockports are they only brand of shoe I have found that extends the amount of time I can be on my feet without pain. Other brands of shoes, claiming to help back pain, always have the worst arch support that is worse than no support at all. They also last longer than any other brand of shoe I have ever had. In fact, I haven't worn out the outside of a pair yet, and I normally keep them more than a year. The padding on the inside does wear down after a year or so and back pains come faster. This pair being water resistant has been great for times I've been working onsite at outdoor events that always get rained on. It's much more comfortable having dry feet when battling thunder storms.
Shoe feels good. But the metal eyelets eat shoe strings.
Durability is crucial for shoes, so I'll update this if they fall apart, but they are comfortable and the earth tones are nice. The first day, they were stiff, and I was worried. Now, they're my go-to.
i have bought these before, and this pair is not as comfortable as the previous pair. do fit fine, but they still make my feet hurt after 8 hours on my feet.
I have always been impressed with Rockport shoes and these did not disappoint me in any way. They arrived quickly and fit perfectly. Once you put them on, you will be reluctant to take them off because they are so light and comfortable. I usually plan to walk around inside the house for a few hours to see how the shoes fit while I am moving. With these, I walked around the first floor, went up and down the stairs - then just went outside and walked a mile! I liked these so much, I also ordered the "breen"- colored pair the next day. They are an olive / brown combination that looks much better on your feet than they did online.
The gizmos that guide the shoelaces are just a bad design. I like the similar looking things that are frequently seen on construction boots. Those allow for easy tieing of the laces. The "look" of those things in the pictures of this shoe looked as if they would be similar. However, although the top of those guides is rounded, the edges the holes are square-ish. The edges impede movement of the laces through the holes. The upshot of the design is that you just can't the laces tight enough to get a secure fit of the shoes. And since I can't cinch the laces tight enough there's not tension of the knot with the result that after walking a while the knot comes untied. Annoying. I always liked Rockport. This is just not a good design.
This shoe runs small. I wear a size 9 but it was extremely tight. Then I tried 9.5 w and was too large. 3rd time was the charm with the 9 w being a perfect fit. The lacing is difficult to tighten with this type of eyelet but can be achieved with the laces around your fingers and an inward twist. Very comfortable shoe for work and great for walking. I give this a thumbs up, but a modification in the eyelets should be made to make it easier to tighten and snug up the laces. Won’t tighten if u just pull them as u normally would.Thank you
I'm a little under two months in, and I've gone through two sets of shoe laces. The eyelets are sharp, and unyielding. If you lace loose, you should be fine, but if you like a tight fit plan on cinching from the bottom up each time.
