Propet Womens W0089 Pedic Walker Flats Sandals Review

I am a senior and have used this sandal for about 20 years. Have bought at least 6 pairs over those years. The closed full heel makes the sandals feel safe as well as comfortable. Comes in a range of sizes and widths. As the shoe gets older the velcro on the straps sometimes does not stick together but it still works most of the time. In the past I have tried to find another manufacturer of closed full heel sandals in hopes I could find one that didn't look as "heavy" but to this day I can't find any except Propet that will provide the safety and comfort I want.

This is the second pair of these sandals I have purchased. The first ones have worn so well (I have worn and worn them for the past five years), I decided to purchase a second pair while I can still get them. They are comfortable right out of the box and do run a little small (I take a 7 in these whereas I wear 6.5 in other shoes). I love the comfort of the padded collar around the heel as well as the insole. The velcro adjustable straps are so convenient for quick adjustments as feet swell during the day or simply getting them on faster when I'm in a hurry. The soles have incredible grip on all surfaces making them as safe as my hiking boots are on rough terrain or wet conditions; I have never slipped when wearing them. I even wear them year round; outside in warmer months and inside with polar fleece socks in the winter! Never have I owned as comfortable, versatile sandals as these are for they look as good with skirts and dresses as jeans or slacks. I highly recommend them!

I have a problem post-op foot and I was looking for summer sandals. I purchased these because Propet advertised the inner foot bed was removable and you could substitute your own orthotic. Excellent design on foot bed with minor Velcro on toe and heel so removal/reinsertion was easy. My full foot orthotic was slightly shorter than the foot bed but usable. By the end of the day when my foot was more swollen, I was glad for the extra toe room. (still within sandal) I tried these around the house, using socks, for several days. They are well made, Velcro straps allowed for plenty of adjustment. My post-op left foot/ankle is larger (swollen) and it was great to be able to adjust both right and left as needed. The enclosed heel is quite supportive of the ankle area. I decided my post-op foot required even more support and stability than this sandal could provide. Amazon made the return process very easy. Follow the prompts on your account page to receive a QRC code which I took with my original packaging to a nearby UPS store which will do the final packaging to return to Amazon. If you need this sort of orthotic friendly sandal, you should try it. There is no way to know from reviews if this is right for you.

I really wanted these shoes to wear walking my dog. They are nice looking and appear well made; however, I wear a size eight shoe and these were too short. I returned them without ordering the next size up concerned my foot would swim around in a size nine. They were out of the half sizes in eight and a half.

These sandals are very good for vacation when you walk a lot. Worked for me perfectly from day one!

I was very disappointed with these sandals. I have multiple problems with my feet (diabetic neuropathy, psoriatic arthritis, and hives) Being disabled, I was hesitant to spend so much on a single pair of shoes, but I needed some relief - just to walk. Sneakers are out of the question for me, because my toes and feet will burn and swell, so I needed something with (at least) an open toe. After reading the rave reviews, I decided to buy a pair because I was going on a trip and walking was going to be required. The purchase went through without a hitch and arrived on time. I excitedly opened them and tried them on. They fit perfectly. At first they were a relief, then about an hour later, the pain began. I tried loosening the velcro straps, but they would not stay closed. OK, I can work with that, I thought. I took them to a local shoe repair shop where I was charged $25 to add more velcro so the straps would stay in place. It did help some, but then the straps began to chafe the top of my feet, cutting into the skin - NOT pleasant. I had no choice but to wear them on my trip - I had no other choice. I did add gel inserts for the ball of my foot and it did not make a difference. Let me just say that the leather sides and back were very soft and flexible - they did not chafe or cause my heals/ankles to blister. However, the pain I experienced while walking was nothing short of excruciating. Hobbling along, I couldn't go sightseeing. Even sitting in a restaurant, I had to slip them off just to get some relief. I wish I had a better experience, but sadly, they have been replaced by a $16 pair of sandals from Kmart. While they are not perfect, the pain has subsided enough for me to walk at least a short distance. I won't be buying another pair of Propet shoes or recommending them to anyone. If you choose to purchase these, I wish you the best. Many people love them. They just did not work for me.

This is a wonderful shoe. I have an over-pronation problem that has gotten worse over the years. I need a stable shoe that holds my foot firmly in place. This is the perfect sandal. The adjustable straps make it easy for me to adjust to fit my narrow foot. The minute you put these shoes on you know they are well made. Your foot is secure and will not wobble around. I wore them to the grocery store and my feet did not get tired and achy like they do when wearing my usual sandals. This is my first pair of Propet, but I will be buying more styles. I can truly say I've tried a lot of shoes, Orthaheel, Merrell, etc., but Propet offers the best fit along with many attractive sandals and shoe styles. I read all the reviews before I ordered. Other people recommended buying one size larger. I usually wear size 8M and I ordered 8.5M. This size worked great. The width is true to size, but I recommend ordering a half size larger. Try them...your feet will thank you!
