These shoes were pretty comfortable, but still tight across tongue. I wear custom orthotics, making the shoe tight across top of left foot, even with the extra depth. I wore them in my condo for several hours, hoping the might stretch a bit, but still caused uncomfortable pain. Reviews on several sites like the shoes, but say the tongue is tight. I wear a 12 xx wide(5E), and have flat feet, but these shoes don't go any wider. I went back to using my orthotics in slip-on Skechers. My recommendation is that these shoes would be fine with low arch or no ach orthotics. However, if you have high arch orthotics, you may want to look at other possible shoes options.Hope this review will people struggling to find shoes allowing orthotics, or orthotic shoes.
Velcro close does not snug up well
As the headline implies, while these shoes are not very "stylish" or trendy, they actually don't look bad at all when wearing them. In fact, they're pretty subtle and not the worst looking.Most importantly, however... and the reason I got these shoes, is they fit WELL. Unfortunately I've recently been dealing with some swelling in my feet, so I sought shoes that are made for just this. I ordered my exact size but in "X-Wide," and I was pleasantly surprised that these offer the perfect fit.They're not too loose but not at all tight. The adjustable straps let me put them on with just enough pressure that I don't need to worry about them falling off, even if I am jogging. They're also surprisingly comfortable and breathable: I was pleasantly surprised with the padding, softness and breathability.If you're like me and you sometimes get swelling in your feet, I highly recommend these. I have mild to moderate swelling and X-Wide was perfect for me. However, if you have moderate to major swelling, you might want to go with XX-Wide to be safe.5 out of 5.
It has always been extremely difficult to find shoes to fit Dad’s 9AA feet. By using the Velcro closure, these are narrow and apparently comfortable for a 93-year-old man. He would even like to sleep with them on! He needed shoes that would not slip on the tile floor of his assisted living room, but they also needed to be easy to get on and off. These shoes really fit those requirements. This is the second pair I have ordered from Propet. I chose black this time. The first pair was navy. I have been very pleased with these shoes!
The width is undisclosed in the description. It says XX, but inside the shoe tongue it its 5E. I wear an orthotic insert and use a 4E width This shoe is also longer the 9.5. I feel like I'm floating in them.
