I never had walking shoes and wow they are nice if that's what you are doing they are definitely built better with more padding and cushioning. Very nice shoe! Very comfortable. I bought them for a cruise for all the walking excursions and they were nice and comfortable.
I'm big, I have trouble with shoes eroding away over 3~6 months. I've been wearing these for a while and it's barely starting to wear off the texture in some places. They feel extremely weird but you get used to it.New Balance's wideness is off from other brands, my 6E shoes are very wide. The heel fits fine, the length is good, but the front half of my foot is loose in a way that makes the shoes feel sloppy. If it were possible to buy I would probably get a 5e when these wear out, but it's not so loose that a 4e would be right. Normally I'm a 6.5ish. The rollbar is weird. They're extremely not waterproof, and not in any way warm. Not acceptable for winter, barely acceptable for early fall. Walking through grass with the morning dew is enough to feel wet quickly.
Pros-Comfort especially for a very big guy like me.-Tones of room for toes or wide feet-Breathable, great for relieving stinky feet compared to closed shoes-Great for sportsCons-Some pealing on the inside of the sole after 2 weeks of wearing it. Not too bad but a little worried about the overall longevity of these shoes.Thoughts:So as you can see in the picture I have a toe condition that requires me to go wider than normal. I have on 11.5 and they have tons of room for my toe. I wear this to work and its my daily driver. The shoe padding is amazing! I feel like I am walking on the most plush carpets. In terms of stability I love it too. I feel like I want to walk more and I have tons of confident playing sports as well. I play ping pong for about 30 minutes a day and I can tell you these do feel amazing. In terms of breathability, these shoes have reduced my athletes foot. I've done much to try and fix my athlete's foot and recently with these I come home and my feet does not stink at all. Even during summer, my feet stays cool and dry. Strong 4 star, worth buying yourself a nice expensive shoe like this one for work - you wont regret it at all.
Love this shoe. Still trying to get use to new balance. Been with Nike forever. First time with new balance ordered a size 12 623, wear a size 11. I was asked to. Felt big. Next par, went with expected fit 11 626, felt pinned in. This shoe went with 11.5, feels good. So good bought a second pair.
Shoe is comfortable, fits well, reasonably decent looking. NB shoes I find to be a bit pricy, but I buy them because they offer narrow widths. Other brands are all quite wide for my feet.
I personally own a pair of these sneakers, and felt it would make a good Christmas present. Unfortunately, I ordered it two times as neither fit the person, so I returned the second one as well.
What I Like - they are actually a narrow show, unlike Sketchers which are narrow for a club foot. SO, I' keeping them because of the difficulty in finding shoes that aren't made for fat people with big wide fat feet. What I don't like - it feels like my heel is lower than the ball of the foot. I've never previously had a pair of "walking" shoes, always running or cross-training. Maybe this is a characteristic of a "walking" shoe, IDK.
I've been wearing the NB 847 series for about a decade and have purchased dozens of pairs in various colors over the years. I like this shoe, it has always offered a great combination of comfort, support, and style. That said, I think this is NB's worst design of the 847 series. I find it as comfortable and functional as the previous models, but why did they have to make it so ugly? The 847 is a clearly a walking shoe made for adults and comes in adult sizes. I can't imagine why they decided to change it into a shoe designed to appeal to toddlers.I bought one pair of this series and will only wear them around the house. Hopefully, the V5 series will not repeat this garish design.
