I finally had to replace my Asics volleyball shoes that are no longer in production. I was super sad. I used the Prime try before you buy and tested out the Mizuno Women's 2 Wave Luminous, ASICS Women's Gel-Rocket 11 and the Mizuno Wave Dimension. The Wave Dimension fit perfectly. The ASICS Gel Rocket 11 had a nice fit, but wasn't as comfortable.The Mizuno 2 Wave Luminous was much narrower than the Wave Dimension. Cushion was great. Ankle support was great, but I was worried that with them being so much narrower that I would blow out the sides before the end of the season.
Good grip, hugs your ankle & foot without being restrictive
I use these for indoor pickleball play. They are lightweight, sturdy, and sure footed for indoor gym play. They run about a 1/2 size small.
I have been playing volleyball for 25+ years and this is honestly the first pair of volleyball shoes I've really loved. Other volleyball shoes I've had have felt stiff, clunky, and like they don't conform to my foot well. As a result, my feet/ankles weren't well protected and I was more likely to injure. With the Wave Luminous 2, I feel much more comfortable and stable. These shoes fit snugly, like a stretchy glove - at first I thought I would need to order a half size up, but there is a bit of stretch to them and after 2 games, they fit perfectly. The close fit makes these shoes feel like an extension of your foot - perfect for quick movements and changing direction. The cushioning is also fantastic - I have weak ankles and injured my heel recently, and with these shoes on, I have little to no pain and I can tell they are really taking the pressure off my jumps/landings. Highly recommend giving them a try if you've had trouble finding a volleyball shoe that fits well.
I’ve been using these for several months and honestly no complaints. Just to note if you have wide feet, maybe size up because the toe box is a bit small. The ankles are low and the tongue is connected to the opening of the shoe. Easy to slip on and play. Never rolled an ankle or slipped with these. Get them!! (These are a size 7 in women’s)
