I've been a Teva fan for years and since my first pair, bought nearly 15 years ago are still wearable, just ratty looking, it was high time that I bought a new pair. At the time that I purchased my original pair, I was in an outdoors outfitter store and paid a ridiculous amount of money on them, in the range of $200.00. It was really a push then but I was in need of camping shoes that would stand up the hiking and kayaking and the Tevas had been highly recommended. I purchased them, fell in love with them and thought I'd wear them all the way out within a year simply because I wore them so much. That was so not the case, they were great shoes and as I said earlier, are still in decent enough shape so many years later, they just look like crap. Knowing the size and style that I had at home, I figured my best bet was to hit my trusty Amazon store and see if I could at least get a little bit of a discount on the original price. Come to find out, not only could I get the original style at a quarter of the price, but there were so many other options out there. I particularly liked the look of this style and the price was just ridiculously cheap compared to what I'd expected to spend, so I thought it was worth a short. I'm so glad I got this pair of sandals. They are even more comfortable than the original pair and so cute too! I would definitely suggest these sandals for anyone of an an outdoorsy nature... well... the little flowers might look odd on a guy, but he'd be comfy. :)
I wish I had returned these. The soles are stiff, the straps restrictive, and the ankle strap bites into my Achilles. Misery!
Light and comfortable sandals. I used them on a camping trip for lounging around and some quick explorations. Then used them as camp shoes on a backpacking trip to splash in and cross creeks. And I wore them to work! These shoes are very cute, comfortable, and stay on. I haven't worn my chacos since because these are lighter and more comfortable.
I'm usually between an 8 and 8.5, so I ordered an 8 and they were way too small. Tight on the thong part around my foot, but ankle strap fit well. However, just putting them on to try them for a few minutes hurt my feet. The footbed is so textured it is actually painful to stand on. Granted, I do not have rough, calloused feet, but I cannot imagine trying to wear these all day when standing on them for a minute was noticeably uncomfortable. I would think they would cause major friction pain if worn for long periods. They are cute and the print is great and they are waterproof so that is really nice. I was looking for something that was cute but I could get in and out of the water with. If the footbed wasn't so rough, I would order a 9, but not worth it so will continue to look further.
I really wanted to like these...but they were hard to put on because the ankle strap seems too tight until you take the whole thing off, and then when I put my foot in, the straps just seemed too tight around the ankle and on top. I bought the "normal" style of Tevas at the same time to see which I liked better, and the other ones are WAY more comfortable than these although they are the exact same size I always get (9). I did love the pattern on these and the texture of the straps.
Fits small, so get a size larger than you think. The texture takes some getting used to. The soles are very rough, like stepping on gravel. However, after wearing around the house for a couple hours, they started breaking in, and I really liked them. The ankle strap fits pretty snug.Overall I love these, once I got used to the texture. I have to have ankle straps with all of my sandals, because I need the stability. I must walk crooked or something. Anyway I have to have ankle straps, so there aren't may options for flip-flops. They are good, and the design is beautiful.Yes these are water-proof.
I purchased these for water water rafting and for days at water/ amusement parks. They were comfortable and light weight in the water and dried quickly out of the water. My feet were not overly tired or worn out after a day pounding the ground in the amusement park. I am very pleased and will purchase Tevas again in the future!
I used to wear Tevas all the time, then I switched to Chaco, but I decided I wanted to change things up this year and tried on a bunch of different pairs of Tevas, but none of them fit. My feet are wide because I've worn sandals all my life, and now they don't fit. Teva, not everyone has narrow feet, please make some sandals for those of us with wide ones!
