I ordered these in black last summer and wore them so much, I felt the need to replace them. They still have some wear, so I will still wear them when walking among dirt, sand or dust, as they look pretty dusty and worn, but are still very comfortable. The tread is a bit worn as well. I did have to cut the top strap on the black ones as it stuck out once the velcro ran out on the strap when tightening. I wanted new ones, but in a tan color which wasn't available in my size 8, as the black ones were. I took a chance and ordered the 7 Wide in tan as I have gotten away with 7 1/2 when it is offered, but never 7's. That strategy seemed to work! They look like they are borderline, but they don't look too small. My toes hit just short of the top edge. AND, I'm thinking I won't ever have to cut this strap to keep it from flapping around as that fits better across the top as well. I'm glad I tried this size out. I think I'm going to really like these!!! The only other factor that held me back from ordering right away was the price. It was considerably more pricey than last year, but I guess everything is. Besides I did have about $16 in rewards points so that lowered the price a little, making it a little easier to press that "order" button in check out. I'm going to wear them around the house, just to be sure they will work out as well as the last pair. I want to make sure that the straps going over the toes isn't going to end up being too tight, as they aren't adjustable. So far, not a problem, but I do feel them there more snug than with the bigger size.. I have very flat arches. These are the only sandals so far that seem to conform to my foot because the foot bed is springy (almost like memory foam) and give a little arch support without digging into my practically non existent arches. They look nice too. I'm sure I can get away with wearing them with all my summer dresses as long as they are as comfortable as my last pair. With the price being much higher, I won't just settle. I'll write an update if anything changes. I don't usually write a review the day I receive an item.
I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 wide width shoe but the 6 wide in this sandal fit me well. I tried a 6 wide and a 7 wide. With the larger size, the whole shoe felt looser and it made it slightly more cumbersome when walking (and more prone to tripping?). I definitely recommend buying 2 sizes if you're unsure and trying them both. The material is very soft, like nylon, but not stretchy. The sole is cushy. The non-arch side of my foot hangs over the side on both sizes, but it is not uncomfortable. It has a small but comfortable arch support. The ankle strap is adjustable. The toe strap is NOT adjustable, but the width was adequate and my feet are WIDE. As others have said (at least I think they did), the bottom is REALLY slippery. Hopefully that will change after wearing them outside. In the picture, the left/gray color is the "6 wide charcoal black/black" and the right is "7 wide black/black". The charcoal is more like a gray IMO, but it was pretty. I am so excited to finally have a cute and comfy walking sandal that fits!!
It’s rare that you find a sandal that fits good and feels comfortable from the very moment you put it on. It’s light weight and durable. This is my second pair and I love them. On my last trip, I walked miles on different terrain and they performed great.
I've had them less than a week and they're already a bit shredded - just from everyday outdoor use, no hiking or rugged terrain (the most they've seen is a driveway or sidewalk). They are made of a pretty fragile foam. I paid $40 which I think is fair. They make your foot look really cute, which is unexpected for a sandal like this. Comfortable - I have a fairly flat foot and they feel good, no breaking in. Also it would be nice if the front straps were adjustable for skinnier feet, for a more secure fit. I'm going to try the Reef "Vista" sandal as it sounds like they might hold up better.[EDIT] After wearing on a trip where I had to hike some paved trails and scramble across a few rocks in the water (nothing too wild) - If they are not tight on your foot, they are VERY slippy in water and when wet. Make sure the straps are tightened as much as possible if you're not on flat ground. Also, tried the Reef sandal, similar issues with not being able to tighten straps enough (skinny ankles). And overall my foot slid forward in them while walking. Not recommended for flat or skinny feet.
Retta enjoy wearing these sandals. The sole is very sturdy and doesn’t rock to cause falls. Straps are comfortable and fit nicely.
I was looking for a plain black sandal for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. I wanted something that I could walk on rocky beaches with and get wet but that wouldn't make my foot slide around like a flip-flop. I have a wide foot so I bought 3 brands that carry wide sizes; this pair of Skechers ($42), a pair of Nike ACG Air Deschutz ($48), and a pair of Merrell Terrain 3s ($54). I planned to choose the most comfy pair, return the others, and start wearing the chosen pair around the house to "break them in" before I leave in a few weeks. Not only were the Skechers far and away the most comfortable pair of the three, they needed zero breaking in time. I wore them all day yesterday anyway simply because they feel nice on my feet, but I have no blisters and I won't worry about packing extra bandaids for my new shoes. The fact that they were the least expensive pair of the three was most surprising considering that is not at all how my life usually works.I am looking forward to traipsing around the black sand beaches of Maui in my new, comfy Skechers sandals.
