Love the material-not super flimsy.
My sons are 7 and 8. They wear around a size 4 shoe but I did get a size 5 for my older son. Doesn’t hurt to size up if they are on the fence with a size for these. And it worked perfectly. These sandals are great !! Every summer I buy flip flops they destroy. But these have held up like nothing I have bought in the past. They have had many trips in the creek and are still perfectly together. I highly recommend.
Living in S. Florida it's our every-day shoes year around, I order a new one when he grows out of the old one. He likes them a lot.

The part in between the toes is also rubber/plastic. If your toes are close together, you’ll be much more comfortable paying a little more to get the ones that have the fabric in between the toes. For many people it will not matter. Otherwise, you’ll get blisters between your toes. It works great for the pool as it is all rubber and does not absorb water.
Grandson loved them!
My son said the straps are uncomfortable. And for beach wear, sand get trapped and scrapes the skin. Good for to and from the pool or short wearing.
