I tried a number of these Keen hiking sandal styles, and this is the one that works best for me. I can be anywhere from a 12 med to 13.5 wide depending on the shoe, so fit is usually all over the place. These 12's fit like a glove, though I will say they feel slightly smaller than Newports/H2's. I'm not sure they'd work for me with socks, but the upside is they fit snug enough to where I leave them totally loose for walking around, where they are very comfortable and secure, and only need cinched when it's time to do their thing. Styling wise, I find these much more appealing than Newports. I know those are great, but I don't like the more clown shoe look and feel for street wear. Other reviews make me question durability, so hopefully these are more like Newports in that regard.
Lots of waterfalls and stream crossings, so being able to just walk through the streams and under thr waterfalls is awesome.Keens offer more width in the toe area than other brands, so downhills are easier. I should note I wear a half size smaller in these compared to Keen boots - but that for me is the same with other sandals. I also have wide feet, so the generous Keen toe box is appreciated.Great construction, and the tread is like having a mud tire. The front design protects your toes from those rocks that always seem to pop up!
I bought these for my husband for his birthday. His previous pair lasted for 10 years so we were very satisfied with the quality, fit and comfortable wear. We hope these new ones give him another 10 years!
I liked these, unlike the new(er) newports, they don't have the tight neoprene around your ankle, so are much easier to get on. They're light and have good tread.I did return them though, I need a stiffer midsole to support my feet. If you Don't, I'd recommend trying them.
I bought these shoes to go hiking and fishing in the rivers. I read so many reviews which the majority said these shoes where great and last a long time. Others of course talked about how the sizing was off and they did not last but like two months. Now that I have had mine for a little over two months, I thought I would provide my comments.I ordered mine based on the size chart provided and they fit perfectly. I hiked over 20 miles, collectively, in the mountains and through creeks. The traction was incredible and the feel was even better. Not only the best pair of shoes for the task but also the most comfortable.I have sense put these shoes through many other daunting tasks just to see how they would hold up. To date, they are still the best pair of shoes for all around outdoor activity that I have ever owned. When the day comes and they do wear out, with no hesitation, I will buy another pair of Keen.I wore these with socks and without. Excellent both ways.My personal experience, these shoes are worth the money and deliver on the quality. Great job!!!
Keen makes great quality shoes and sandals
This model is different then previous versions of this shoe in that they reduced the amount of leather and increased the amount of black under fabric (neoprene?). This makes it look cheaper and feels less stable. It does seem to make feet hotter when wearing then previous versions. Overall they skimped on leather to save a few bucks and made it a worse product. I have been buying this shoe for over a decade. This will be the last pair I buy unless they go back to the previous design and quality.
great quality, comfortable. you get what you pay for.
