I love this flip flop...
These are attractively designed sandals that *look* comfortable. Unfortunately, they were anything but. As someone with wide feet, I’ve gotten pretty good at eyeballing which “wide” styles will actually fit my feet. These sandals were deceptive, though. These were the right length and I had no problem fitting my feet under the toe straps. But to my disappointment, they’re contoured in a way that made the sides of my feet immediately (literally within seconds) feel fatigued and confined. Imagine the discomfort you might feel if the wings on a bucket seat you were sitting in were so rigid that they made your thighs feel like they were in a girdle. That’s how uncomfortable they were. I couldn’t wait to take them off. The other major issue is that they were comfortably flexible in the area under my toes and the balls of my feet but board stiff in the midsole and heel areas. I understand that some shoes need to be “broken in” but it’s hard for me to imagine those stiff section becoming more pliable over time. Finally, the leather toe post on the sandals, while sturdy, felt super thin. Almost like having a piece of twine between my toes and I definitely would prefer something thicker there. IMO, those with wide feet will likely find these disappointing. They’d probably fit someone with narrow or average feet just fine, though.
As described. Great fit.
I've owned other shoes from this brand, which have been good shoes and plenty wide in the past. These should not be marked as wide.
