The Dansko Women's Sophie Black Sandal stands out in several categories including comfort, style, and durability. You will appreciate the excellent arch support, which allows for extended periods of wear without discomfort. This sandal features a foam midsole that absorbs shock and provides cushioning, helping to reduce foot fatigue during lengthy activities.
In terms of style, the sleek black leather upper complements a range of outfits—from casual daywear to dressier evening looks. With the addition of the Dri-Lex socklining, moisture management becomes effortless, allowing your feet to stay dry and comfortable even on warmer days.
While the sandal offers a remarkable fit for most, some individuals may find it slightly narrow, necessitating a brief break-in period for maximum comfort. Despite this, the overall value provided by Dansko remains high, thanks to their commitment to foot health.

I love this brand and style of shoes! I always have a pair of Dansko Sophie sandals in my closet and I wear them out! Even though they are very well made and last a long time. I went looking for a new pair when my last pair was was looking a little a worn. These caught my eye: colorful and just a bit shiny- but they didn't have my size. So I waited patiently and kept checking and when they finally restocked my size I snagged them! It's easy to buy these online because they are very consistent with their sizing. I like that the uppers are made of real leather and so breath and form to your foot. The buckles are stylish but also functional. You can adjust the width to your foot. I always need to open up the top buckle by one ring. I don't know what the soles are made of but I can wear these all day without my feet hurting. I'm sure it t has something to do with the "rocker bottom". I have even worn them to amusement parks and been fine at the end of the day. They are well worth the price in my opinion. These used to come in all kinds of designs but lately I am seeing mostly solid colors. I hope they are not phasing out patterns on this style that I love so much and especially hope that they don't discontinue it! I love my Sophie's and will continue to buy them as long as they are available!!
I have several Danskos and other shoes for my very flat feet and these have quickly become my favorite pair of everyday shoes for running errands or walking around the house. I love the Dansko mules I bought too but I wanted something more summery since I live in Arizona and pretty much wear sandals all summer. These are absolutely perfect! I wear a pretty true size 9 and the 9.5-10 range fits beautifully.I had to adjust the straps a little bigger to fit my swollen feet, which I love that they have adjustable straps in the first place. After that, they are incredibly comfortable and I love the soft fabric on the soles. They do get grimy and stinky with all that barefoot walking but I opened up the straps and then sprayed the soles with water in the kitchen sink, let the soles soak for a few minutes, then used the sprayer to basically power wash them. After patting dry with a towel, I used a hair dryer for about 5 min per shoe to dry them faster and they looked almost brand new except for the permanent indentation your feet will eventually leave. You could proably use some dish soap too but I'm gonna see how just plain water works. I could still smell the sour smell when I was blow drying them so I may try a little soap next time instead, maybe a solution of Oxy clean for the soaking and see how that works.
I tried these on while on vacation. Soooo comfortable for me. They fit great! That was 6m ago and I've not forgotten them. They looked cute on.....better than a photo or on the rack.Had to come back for them!
These are comfy and cute. Look great with everything. Not great to wear on uneven ground for me. They are little tippy when I am on grass.
This is my 3rd pair if this style. Comfortable as always, the color is a warm or creamy white -- which I def am happy with -- instead if a bright white as I expected. I live in northern south Florida and the "Labor Day - Memorial Day" white rule doesn't apply.Whenever I can buy these on sale, I do, even if color / print / texture isn't my favorite -- or so I think before I see them in person. In this case, not only do I love the color, I also appreciate the pewter color of the buckles. Low key and really sharp.Thank you, Dansko, please keep making this clog sandal.
First, these are great sandals. I buy a new pair of Danskos every spring, so I have quite a collection. These are among the most comfortable of all my Dansko sandals. The footbed is the softest of any pair of Danskos I own, and the fact that it is suede keeps my foot from sliding around and makes for a more secure fit, as well as resisting that sweaty-foot feel. They are also lighter weight than similar style Dansko sandals. But please note: These do NOT run true to size, not even to Dansko size. I wear a perfect size 11US, which is a 42--NOT a 41 in European sizes, no matter what manufacturers say (including Dansko). I always wear a 42 in Dansko (and Birkenstock, and every other maker). But after reading the reviews, I ordered these in a 43. They fit exactly as a Dansko 42 usually fits. These could even stand to be a 1/4 inch longer for me. I strongly recommend ordering UP one size from your usual Dansko size, at least in the larger sizes.Second, the heel is 2.5 inches, NOT 2 inches. That may seem insignificant, but I am 5'11" and so is my husband, so that half inch makes a big difference to me. I measured the heel on these and on two other pairs of Dansko sandals in different styles that are also supposed to be two inches high, and these are most definitely a half inch taller.I will certainly be keeping these, because they are cute and comfortable and will last a long time, but the sizing is definitely not as represented, so you will want to be aware of this when ordering.
I usually wear 9.5-10 in Dansko shoes. I am glad I read the other reviews and bought this one in 10.5-11. It is exactly the size of my feet! I wish it were a 0.5 step larger, but I am keeping it because it’s cute and serve my purposes (daily wear).
This is my go to sandal if I know Iam going to be on my feet a lot and since I live in a tropical state I can wear sandals almost everywhere!I have a very high “instep” so the adjustable strap is great! So comfortable that I ordered a third pair so I always have this sandal on hand.
