I have suffered with Plantar Fasciitis for YEARS and no shoes I've bought have been overly helpful...until I bought these shoes. I've worn them non-stop during the day and my feet FINALLY feel FABULOUS!!! They're exactly what I was wanting. I 'almost' gave them 4 stars because of the ankle strap being WAY too long but it wouldn't stop me from buying them again and I still love them so I'm keeping it a 5 star review. I just need to figure out a way to cut it down without ruining the strap or making it fray. I have such skinny ankles that I could tighten them even more but I worry - even as they are now, that someone will step on the strap and I'll trip and fall. And since I'm 54 I don't want to be falling and breaking a hip or something. Seems like a liability hazard for the shoe company. But if you don't have super skinny ankles it might not be as much of a problem. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!!! I will definitely buy them again! I wear a size 7 - 7 1/2 and bought a size 7 and they couldn't fit more perfectly! Can't sing their praises more!***An update - my niece has these shoes and she showed me a way to tuck the strap in a way that doesn't rub the back of my foot. Works like a CHARM! So now I have ZERO COMPLAINTS about them! I'll try to describe it the best I can: Take the leftover strap and put it under the strap on the ankle (behind the buckle thing), pull it up through the top of the strap. Then put the strap between the 2 straps and it tucks aware really nicely. I'll try to post photos showing how it's done.
I bought these sandals to hike around Costa Rica. They did not disappoint. They are high quality and durable. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, and these offer nice arch and heel support. My only complaint (if you want to call it that), is that over time, the strap at the ankles tends to wear itself loose. It’s no big deal, as you can just easily give it a tug to tighten it back up.Size was perfect.
I love these shoes! This is actually my second pair. I had the first for two years and wore them nearly every day, even in the winter. They are super comfortable! That is a very big statement for me. I have have crazy super wide feet and I have a horrible time finding shoes that fit. Sandals often look really strange since my toes tend to hang off the sides. These are nice and wide and fit great. The straps last forever too! Well, almost forever! My last pair ended up finally coming apart after 2 solid years. That is truly amazing. I am not kind to my footwear! Even though the strap broke between the toes, the sole was still in excellent shape. You can actually send them in to Chaco to get the strap repaired but after 2 years, I figured I got my use out of them. The ones I have now are holding up just as well. You can't go wrong with this brand!
I like these a lot, they're very adjustable and comfortable and easy to wear on a lot of different terrains. I've had to start wearing the toe straps flat because they would tighten and were cutting into me. Wearing them like this makes them a tiny bit loose since now I have to have the straps are tightened all the way to make them fit, but they still stay on.
I have worn Chacos for years... I finally bit the bullet and bought the flips, when I normally just get a cheapie pair to wear around. Best thing in the world. my feet always hurt after a few minutes in flat flips - these offer great support - able to wear them all day. And if they are anything like my other Chacos - i will have them for years, and not have to buy flip-flops every year at summer - i love them. IF you have just a little bit of a wide foot i recommend getting the wide - much more comfortable for being at the beach and so forth. they don't slip off as someone suggested ... plus, it gives you a bit more room for the toe. I got the normal width once and it was just too tight around my foot and in between my toe .... the wide is not real wide - it just gives a bit more length on the straps, which are not adjustable on the other Chaco sandals ...
When my sandals arrived I was shocked to see that they would not come even close to fitting my foot and was preparing to return them, the long strap was too tight and I couldn't even get my foot in them. I opened the box to repack and found this little card that explains how to get a custom fit from your sandals. Seems the strapping runs in a continuous loop between the foot bed and sole! My ankles and feet swell from time to time and when this happens even the loosest of shoes seem tight, however these sandals are the perfect remedy, just readjust the straps and no more discomfort, when the swelling subsides, viola' adjust the straps back! I am absolutely over the moon for these sandals!!
I'm not exactly sure why I've had such bad luck getting these Chaco's. I first got a pair that were too small, so I sent them back and ordered a larger pair, only to end up with laces that were completely stuck. It was not moving whatsoever and it was pressing into my skin which hurt too much to wear. I ended up just sending it back and not getting any shoes. This was a disappointing experience since I was looking forward to such high rated shoes.
I have owned several pairs of Chaco Sandals throughout the years, these sandals last a very long time. They are well made. The tread is great for slippery/sandy surfaces. The arch support is perfect, your feet will not sweat on the rubber sole, (I live in the high Desert where temps get to 115, so this could be a problem.) I wear a 5 or 6 depending on type of shoe, I bought a 5 and they fit perfectly. The straps were not too loose or tight, (I have narrow feet so I was concerned that I might slosh around in them.) No 'break-in' period. I practically live in these shoes all year round. Highly recommend!!!!!
