The BASS OUTDOOR Women's HEX MESH Action Hiking Shoe excels in providing comfort and durability for outdoor enthusiasts. The cushioned footbed feels like walking on clouds, which is a significant advantage during extended hikes. The lightweight design does not sacrifice sturdiness; the rubber sole provides excellent traction on both smooth and uneven surfaces.
The breathable mesh outer allows for proper airflow, keeping your feet cool even during warmer hikes. One of the standout features is its water-resistant capability, making it suitable for light rain or puddles. However, while it offers some protection against moisture, it may not hold up in heavy rain or deep water, so planning your excursions accordingly is advisable.
In terms of style, these shoes blend functionality with a sleek look, easily pairing with outdoor clothing. The easy pull-on closure is another convenience, especially for those who are always on the go.

I got these specifically for a recent trip out to the coast (though I do hope to make more use of them than that!). I have wide, sometimes swollen feet, so I wasn't sure if they would fit. I often have problems with standard shoes. They are flexible, however, and fit nicely. I do have to make sure my foot is fully in so the Velcro seals well enough to stay fastened. I got a good bit of sand in the shoes, and it wasn't irritating at all. The shoes are weirdly curved on the bottom, and I was a little worried about having balance issues. That didn't seem to be a problem, however, outside of my knees not being cooperative. I didn't fall in the ocean even once. Overall, I like the shoes and they served my purpose.
These shoes are lightweight with an open weave fabric, but not as comfy as they should be. They benefit from adding a padded insole or orthotics but because the shoe’s own insole isn’t removable, the added insert can be seen around the heel. The shoe’s color is good, a nice navy blue.
These shoes are advertised as hiking shoes but I would not find them acceptable for this purpose. They have no support and the inside sole is hard, not cushioned at all. The velcro strap is adjustable and easy to use. They are very light and airy but not "an air conditioner for your foot" as stated. My feet sweat when I wore them without socks but they were comfortable with a thin sock. I ordered 8 1/2 which is my usual size and they fit well with socks but are too big when not wearing socks. They are water resistant and fast drying. They have a good tread which makes them good for water sports but you should order a smaller size to use without socks. I wore them for biking and found them to be comfortable with socks and the tread keeps feet from falling off the pedals. They are good for walking around the house or short walks outside. I like a good comfortable shoe for camping to wear at the campsite that is easy to take on and off and waterproof for walking on wet ground. These shoes are good for that purpose. This is a well made and sturdy product and is a good shoe but not for hiking.
It's not always easy to find shoes that are comfortable. And to be honest, I was nervous with these when I first put them on -- the contour at the top where the loop sticks out is a bit pronounced -- I was afraid that would rub and chafe the top of my foot. but it did not. The materials was soft enough to just adjust to the contour of my feet.Neither the top of the shoe hor the strap pressed or rubbed either, so that was good. Without socks, they felt a bit sweaty for a little while, but then that stopped.I plan on using these while hiking near beaches, so the ability to have a breathable shoe that can get wet and has traction means a lot to me.
I really wanted to like these.Everything about these checks boxes but as soon as I put one foot in I was like What. The. *%&!.Why bother making a shoe if there’s 0 support?! These were literally the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever put a foot in.I NEVER leave a review like this.Do better or don’t even bother.I mean-come on…
Shoes are perfect for feet that get swollen and need extra room. Fits as expected and durable.
These outdoor/hiking shoes have good traction and work well to minimize slipping and sliding. The adjustable strap is handy to personalize the fit and to tighten or loosen the shoes throughout the day. You do need to wear these with thick socks however as they are not very cushioned on the inside. The biggest drawback of this is hiking or using them around water as wet socks are not an ideal situation.
Pros:Well made - good qualityAiry for outdoor wearGood sole to prevent slippage on hikesVelcro backs to adjust for comfortGood looking designCons:Insole has little to no cushion or flexibilityOuter sole is stiffInterior is not really soft for a shoe designed to wear without socks
