I average around 8 miles per day at work. All concrete.I've been buying these Rockport boots for around 8 years. I love them. They athletic insole system (designed by Adid_s) is awesome. You can literally play a game of pick-up ball in these. I have. They are literally more comfortable than NEARLY ALL of my high-end athletic shoes. You know those high-end workbooks that cost around $200/pr these days? These are more comfortable and last just as long. The outsole isnt identified as slip resistant, but I have found them to be better than most boots.BTW, I keep all my boots when they get retired from work. They are great around the homestead and still very comfortable outdoor work.I also keep a pair for "nice" wear when it's cold, snowy, or even rainy. Yeah, they're that comfortable and good looking. I'll wear them to church without a second thought.Thank you, Rockport, for bringing back this original boot! The fit is perfect. I always purchase 2-3 pair at a time when they're available.
I have had these for a year, and I love them. They are extremely comfortable, like all Rockports I have owned. I like the look, except for the very pointy toe. Fortunately, that has rounded down very nicely over time, and now they are perfect. They are also lasting well, and the tread is barely worn down after a year of daily wear The leather is very easily scuffed, but I oil them regularly with neatsfoot oil, which helps a lot. The material creases strongly, since the leather is fairly thin, but it is holding up very well anyway. The waterproofing is not perfect, but I'm sure there are products that could help. I was able to compare these and the non snow boot version side by side, and as far as I could tell, they were entirely identical. Maybe they have a different waterproof coating or different insulation, but I could not tell the difference. I wear these in the snow, but they are certainly not snow boots, whatever Rockport says. The have good tread, but very little insulation. They do well on wet roads, but of course polished wet floors present a small challenge. On a polished extremely oily floor they did not do well, but what would? Oil is generally not a problem for these except on polished floors. I have never used the pull tab; according to other reviews it is extremely weak, but I can't verify that.SizingI am used to buying hiking boots, so these felt large and narrow for the size I bought. I am used to buying a size large, to have room when hiking, but that did not work well for these. Buy your actual size and they should fit, or use the very handy amazon sizing tool. I did get the wide, the regular seemed very narrow for my slightly wide feet. Even the wide felt a bit narrow at first, but they loosened over time. Amazon's excellent exchange policy helped me a lot with these.
I bought these boots for a winter trip to Breckenridge. I needed something that could handle traction in the snow, and my collection of dress shoes and sneakers wasn't going to work. Once back at home I intend to use them as construction job site visit boots. These fit well, kept my feet warm, and were quite comfortable. I think they also look nicer than most other snow boot styles. They are something you can wear with a dark pair of jeans and be slightly on the dressed up side of things. While you aren't going to be hiking through snow drifts with these, for walking around areas with compacted snow and some ice they worked very well. We walked most places on our winter trip, and these were my go to shoes. They offered a decent amount of grip on slippery areas. I could see them working for shoveling a driveway after 2-4 inches of snow as well. The limit on snow depth would be the height of the boot, while also considering they aren't really the style boot for tucking in whatever pants you have on.The upper four shoelace loops are the open variety allowing you to quickly get your foot in and out of the boot. There is a closed loop on the tongue of the shoe at this location that keeps the laces in place and the tongue held up. Altogether the construction of the shoe seems well thought out. I will have to give it some time to comment on durability.
I love these boots.....I'm a big guy, size 14, and these support me, are VERY comfortable, and look fantastic.....Bought my first pair nearly 8-10 years ago, and was so very excited when I found that they are still available!.......ONLY thing I would change are the eyelets, as they tend to shred the shoestrings....I have found a brand of heavy-duty threads that survive, though.I am probably going to order another pair to stash away for the future.
Good confortable boot that holds up reasonably well. The laces are too thin and cheap so I replace the laces with strong ones. I use 63 inch laces to replace the ones that come in the boots. Just FYI
Bought these over 5 years ago as a manager needing classy looking boots. These are perfect. Still wear them to Church in the cold months. Great boots.
Very comfortable boots. This was my third time buying them. I have bought brown and black. I had to wear boots at work for 28 years and never had any that were nearly as comfortable.
I have bad feet and these are my third pair . Fit well and feel good. Great work boots or for winter wear.
