My 2nd pair are lace-up ankle boots, great for hiking and just running around doing errands, when it is cold and/or slick. This purchase is my 3rd. I got a new puppy and needed something easy to don and doff when taking her out for those emergent "gotta pee!!" moments (MyPuppy's---not mine!). They are sturdy, durable, and worth the price, as my history with this brand is extensive and more than satisfactory! Wearing them inside on flat, non-carpeted floors does produce a clicking noise; however, they are NOT slick on such floors, and they do not tear up the floor surface. They also do not tear up carpet, if you need to walk briefly on it.Perfect purchase for one who is active during winter!
I have been wanting to buy these boots for a few years now, they came highly recommended by friends. I ordered them through Amazon and the vendor was Backcountry, great customer service. I ordered my normal size and they fit well but a little too tight if I wanted to wear thicker socks. So I returned those and order a size up. They are perfect. I'm looking forward to wearing the Icebugs for many Minnesota winters.
Living in the mountains where we have snow and ice, always influenced my ability to walk during the winter. Having fibromyalgia and osteopenia, it is imperative that I can exercise. Thanks to my Icebugs I can keep walking with ease and virtually no fear of slipping!! Highly recommend!!
After falling two times on one dog walk, I knew I needed to change my footwear. While originally turned off by the price, two friends recommended these and so I went for it. They are comfortable and safe! I wear a 7.5 in shoes and an 8 in many running shoes. I wear a 7.5 in these, FYI
I can walk the dog without fear of slipping. The only thing I would change if I could is make it laces not a zipper. If you’re wearing heavy socks (as we do here in Minnesota) it can be hard to zip. Having said that they are warm as well!
I feel really good walking on ice in these boots. I did go to a ski meet and my feet did get cold, so for serious outdoor I will wear my bogs with the grippers on, for walking I will will the new boot, I love them.
