When it comes to comfort, the Techlite midsole plays a significant role. It provides cushioning that feels great even after hours of use. However, be aware that there might be a brief break-in period needed for optimizing comfort if you have wider feet.
As for traction, the Omni-Grip outsole delivers reliable performance on both snow and ice, giving you confidence when navigating tricky terrain. Many users have noted their satisfaction with the grip provided by these boots.
Overall, the Columbia Bugaboot Wide is a solid investment for anyone needing a tough, insulated boot that can handle severe cold while keeping your feet comfortable and dry.

Nice and comfortable used it in wet snow, keep feet warm and dry
I live in OH where we get quite a bit of snow and it can get cold. Even in a foot of snow, these boots keep my feet dry and warm. I also find them very easy to get on and off as there is one eyelet at top that you wrap the lace around for the final tie and that is the only one you unlace to remove the boot. This gives a snug tie without completely lacing/unlacing as with some other boots. The rubber sole has deep tread so I haven't slipped in snow or ice while wearing. I am quite happy with these boots and have used them for about four months of winter already.
I have been through 27 winter seasons without a proper winter footwear. These are my first. They are great when I walked on snow downhill. They prevent slippage. They support my ankles very well. They keep my toes warm. My socks were a little wet even though they are waterproof. They are made in Vietnam and they seem to be of very good quality. They are not designed to go hiking off-road. A snug fit would be size 8.5 (men), I ordered size 9 2E and I wear regular cotton socks. They fit comfortably.
Excellent boots! One of the "little" things that I love is the height at which the laces hang from when not being worn (ie - they're not lying on the floor, getting soaked). Completely comfortable; one might need to loosen the very top hooks a bit, so that the back of the boot isn't pressuring the Achilles tendon, until the boot break in a bit more. No complaints at all..
Well, I'm usually pretty leery about buying clothes/shoes online without being able to try them on first. But I couldn't resist the price when I ordered these boots on Black Friday...I received them today. I immediately opened the package to try them on and was soo pleased that they fit like a glove. I would say that they run a little small, so order a 1/2 size bigger than you usually wear. I usually wear a men's 10 1/2 wide and ordered an 11 wide and they fit perfectly. I will probably get to try them out tomorrow as we are expecting about 4 inches of snow tonight. Overall, the boots look great, very durable and looks like good traction on the soles. Very light weight also, and they didn't feel super heavy on my feet when I tried them on. I've had good luck with Columbia products in the past(this is my fourth winter with my Columbia coat) and expect to get a few year's use out these boots as well....Very happy with my purchase so far!
This past weekend I put these boots through the ringer and they passed with flying colors. On the coldest weekend of the year (-15ºF, 40-80mph winds) I did a winter day hike wearing these boots. Four miles up, four miles down, alpine zone at the top. Seriously cold out, especially with wind chill. I put some small crampons on for traction on the outside and wore a mid-weight pair of Darn Tough socks on the inside. My feet were never cold or uncomfortable for five hours of rigorous hiking. Two people in our party wore uninsulated hiking boots and both got cold. Not me. I used to use insulated plastic mountaineering boots that cost hundreds of dollars. Never again. For under $100 you can have boots that are MUCH lighter and better insulated. Total no brainer.
I bought these for work in a meat department. They lasted a good time when I was walking to work (a few times in the snow) but when it came time for working hard in these, the fabric boot lace straps tore and failed on me. They are not fit for a hard work environment, but very comfy and warm. The longevity is why I gave them 3 stars. They didn't last for more than 4-5 months of daily wear.
These boots look good, they seem to be comfortable so far. We haven't tested serious water and snow yet so we'll get back to you. As reported by other Columbia Boot wearers, these boots are cut true to size. if you don't like your toes coming right to the top of your boots, order them a half a size or size up. The wide width works well for really wide feet.
