I thought the lights stopped working but it turns out that there is a button on the strap to turn the lights on and off. It says this in the description if I had read it. Great shoe!
This was the second pair I bought. My 3 year old grandson hates anything tight on his toes, he loves these. They have held up really well, mud puddles, sand, you name it. Also like you can turn light feature off.

I see that many reviews stated the lights quit working, but there is a button on strap that turns them off or on! My grandson loves these!
Although these sneakers look good, they are supposed to light up. After my grandson put them on, only one shoe would light up. He wanted to wear them & of course it’s a lot of trouble to return them. Just know they may be seconds or have something wrong with them.
