Pedi ped is the best brand for babies. Honestly the only baby shoe that actually stays on. Only gripe is that the shoe isn’t as pictured.
These worked great for my son's first shoe. The soft sole is very flexible so he had no problem learning to walk. The reinforced toe held up well to crawling and stumbling. They looked cute and were easy to put on his chubby foot since the top opens very wide. The design is nice and went well with all of his clothes.
I really really wanted to love and keep these shoes. They are so cute, I love the style. They also were wide which I needed for my 1 year old son's wide feet. I also loved that they are very flexible and good for early walkers like my son who is not super sturdy on his feet yet. The problem we had with these shoes which I cannot ignore is the fact that the bottom of the shoe has absolutely no traction and is very slippery.Just wearing them around our house on the carpets and hardwood floors had my son slipping and sliding all over, at one point he began doing the splits. I do not want to put his safety at risk by allowing him to wear these shoes so unfortunately I will be returninig them. We are going to try the Stride Rite step 2 shoes which are also very flexible and they have good traction. I might be buying these shoes again with the more adbvanced bottoms once my little guy is a more experienced walker.
We love these shoes. Our new walker can wear them for a long time and not try to take them off like he normally does. Even if he plays with the velcro strap in his car seat, he leaves them on. He enjoys walking around in them, and he doesn't seem to trip much at all. The leather soles are a lot like not having shoes on (he only wears them when we go out). His feet are small but they fit as expected for him (had to wait to wear the 12-18 month size) and are a little wide but he can wear them just fine with socks. As a bonus, they're really cute on him!
My son is starting to stand so I'm looking into getting first indoor/outdoor shoes for him. I had robeez soft soles but the band was too tight and the toes area was too skinny. I had his foot measured half a month ago at a Stride Rite store and they recommended a 4.5Wide. Skechers size 5 was also too tight and I couldn't get his foot in. So I decided to try these and his foot fit right in! It's still a little too big (long) but by the time he takes his first steps, I think it'll be perfect. I also noticed the bottom material is different from what's in the picture. The picture shoes leather, but when I received it, it was more like rubber so I think that's why previous reviews complain about it being too slippery? It wasn't slippery at all on carpet with these rubber bottoms but they are still just as soft and flexible but thick enough to provide protection against anything sharp on the floor.
In 2008, I loved pediped shoes for my daughter because they were easy to slip on and seemed comfortable for her as she learned to walk. The boys styles in 2013? Not so much. The opening on the Adrian sneaker is too narrow, and the tongue does not lift up high enough to slip my son's foot into shoe. His big toe curls up no matter what I do. Also, the leather on the toe starting wearing off within 10 minutes. Pediped's quality has declined significantly in the last few years. I have tried other boys' styles and they are all equally frustrating. I will no longer be purchasing any pediped products.
I bought these because my son is cruising and starting to take some steps and he needs protection for his feet while we are out and about and these fit the bill. He has been using soft, leather soled shoes for a while, but with his increased steps, that wasn't enough. These are still very soft and bendable for his feet, but give more protection if he steps on a rock, etc..My son also has a bit of fat on the top of his foot so a lot of shoes won't fit over his foot if they just have elastic, but these get over and secure tightly with the hook and loop closure. Robeez don't fit over his foot and have been a waste for us.These look cute and have held up fairly well. They aren't getting hard use and probably wouldn't withstand that sort of treatment, but they weren't created for that. Overall we are quite happy with them.
BEST....TODDLER SHOES....EVER. Period. Yes, these are pricey for an infant's shoe, but let me tell you why I would not buy any other shoe for an early walker:~Soft and easy to put on. These will fit wide feet, well. Chunky baby feet are not an issue.~Will NOT rub their heels raw. The shoe is soft everywhere, which is great~Padded bottom means comfort on the go. These are just the right amount of support on the bottom for little feet to go go go without any discomfort.~Will last for at least 2 sizes of shoes, if that makes any sense. There is a TON of room to grow, so size up once, tighten the velcro as needed.LOVE THESE. And the brown goes with EVERYTHING.
