When it comes to choosing the right footwear for diabetic needs or post-operative recovery, comfort and accessibility are paramount. The Propét mens Cronus Diabetic Shoe slippers excel in both areas, primarily due to their neoprene upper that molds comfortably around your foot while being breathable. The wide opening feature is invaluable for those who struggle with limited mobility or swelling, allowing for effortless wear.
The cushioned removable insole provides customizable comfort and can be replaced if needed, which is a significant plus for individuals requiring orthotic inserts. Additionally, the PU outsole delivers stability and grip, whether you’re walking around the house or stepping outside briefly.
This slipper's design focuses on nighttime comfort but is versatile enough for daytime use too, making it an excellent all-around choice. Notably, the fact that it’s Medicare approved means potential affordability through health insurance coverage for eligible users.
However, it is important to note the potential bulkiness compared to more conventional slippers. While this may be a minor drawback, it should be weighed against the comfort and support it offers. Overall, these slippers are an exceptional choice for anyone needing specialized footwear without sacrificing style and ease of use.

Purchased for elderly father with occasional lower extremity edema/poor circulation. Dad is pleased with having a pair of shoes which: fit comfortably and feel secure, are well made, are very adjustable to swelling in different areas of each foot/ankle, and are attractive. Good value! As my Dad's caregiver, I appreciate having a shoe that is quick to put on and to remove. The overall shoe promotes safety by its adjustable customized fit. The soles are flexible/solid, and offer adequate traction. The sturdy yet stretchy upper material with velcro fasteners offers a customized fit. Dad's feet stay comfortably warm and they get enough air circulation. I especially like that the good fit promotes more mobility which help's in reducing the painful edema; ultimately, these shoes adjust with his needs.
This is a wonderful and rare occasion in our house. I’ve been trying to find him good shoes for twenty years almost. He is a size 9 5E and has brawny edema due to being in a chair with bad circulation. I got these on sale and in a 9 1/2 (due to wool socks here in Wisconsin in the winter). He griped and griped about the structure and how thick and shoe-like the sole was. I said ummm- they ARE shoes, babe…. Anyhow, today he ADMITS he LOVES them and they fit much better than the others. Propet puts out a quality product, and you know I hated (haha) saying it, but I TOLD HIM SO! Lol
These shoes are designed for those with edema and the resulting swollen feet. They are soft , light, and mold to your foot. The entire top of the shoe lifts off exposing the foot -bed for easy dressing.( It is held in place by Velcro under the strap). Another strap encloses the back of the shoe and allows some adjustment there. I have searched hard for shoes that will offer comfort for my aching feet and this just might be the one. .Certainly, they're the best I've found so far. I would award them five stars if they hold up well over time. It's commendable that these shoes are offered in a variety of wide sizes. However,. some sizes were.out of stock. . .
My husband has swelling in his feet but more so on his left foot. Getting one size shoe to fit both feet is difficult. I bought the Propet and the Foamtreads at the same time hoping one would fit and I'd send the other back. I'm keeping them both. The Velcro tongue opens the shoe completely from heel to toe making it easy to insert the foot. The Velcro on both side allows for adjustment to fit the foot. Some say these are slippers and not shoes but for our purpose they are shoes. They are the best choice I have found for his unique condition. I bought both the Propet and the Foamtreads at the same time. Only negative is the Propet is the toe room is a little tighter compared to the Foamtreads.
I purchased these slippers/shoes as an alternative to the regular house slippers that I normally wear around the house. I'm surprised at how comfortable and warm these slippers are with adjustable support around the arch and toe box. My reason for buying these instead of the normal house slippers was to find a slipper that would give some adjustable support and last longer. My normal slippers always got too lose after wearing them for a few weeks and there was no way to tighten up the support. With these Propet slipper shoes, the adjustments on top and in the back may solve this issue.....time will tell. The soles of these slipper shoes should hold up better but.......time will tell. For the price paid, I'm hoping to get some long quality wearing time from these Propet slipper shoes. So far, I'm happy with my purchase.
This is a flop for Propet shoes. Heavy bulky shoe is made of like neosprean websuit material with no way to breath no air holes, just your hot stinky feet would be the end result. Shoe appears to be slapped together blindfolded. I am surprised because Propet does make some really nice shoes, this just isn’t one of them. It is as if there were left over materials getting ready to be thrown out when someone said, “Let’s just make shoes out of it and if we only sell a few we’ll be ahead of the game!”I purchased these shoes as I recently left the hospital and needed super-wide and very easy shoes to put on due to swelling and foot wounds caused by venous stasis ulcers. The photo made it look like it fit my criteria. But once out of the box I knew this would never work, the super heavy weight alone is just ridiculous. And then not one single way of getting air into the shoe, coupled with the most non-breathable wetsuit material just spells disaster. Forget about a good shoe this isn’t even adequate on any level.I hate negative reviewers so I apologise for such an oppressive review, but sincerely you would thank me for telling you to look elsewhere for a better shoe!
The slippers seem to be of fine quality. My reason for returning them is because of severe neuropathy, my right foot sustained a huge blister the size of a banana slug. My right foot is smaller due to a toe amputation. As it was, I never felt my foot sliding back and forth which caused the blister.
I bought these shoes for my elderly father who has extremely swollen feet and ankles due to a medical condition. He used to wear a 10M and I bought the 10.5E which fit him perfectly. These are great shoes, very adaptable to the foot and nice looking. However, my dad is stubborn and is used to a loafer style, so refused to wear these. :( They had to go back as I search for a more familiar style for him. I think he preferred the loafer style as it's easier to get in and out of. These required him to open/close the shoe and with his physical issues, struggled to reach his feet. Otherwise, highly recommend.
