The New Balance Numeric 808 - Tiago Lemos is not just another shoe; it's a statement. Designed by skateboarder Tiago Lemos, this model brings together the nostalgic flair of late-90s aesthetics with contemporary technology from New Balance. The combination of a full-length ABZORB midsole offers exceptional cushioning while the NDurance outsole ensures durability on various surfaces. Its layered upper, featuring leather and textile materials, presents a striking look enhanced by oversized N branding that makes these sneakers stand out.
Model | Cushioning Technology | Outsole Material | Upper Material |
---|---|---|---|
New Balance 808 - Tiago Lemos | ABZORB | Rubber | Leather/Textile |
Adidas Seeley | EVA | Rubber | Canvas |
Nike SB Check | Phylon | Rubber | Canvas/Synthetic |
When you first slip your feet into the New Balance 808 - Tiago Lemos, you'll notice the immediate comfort offered by the ABZORB midsole. This technology absorbs impact, making it an excellent choice for individuals who are on their feet for extended periods or engage in activities like skateboarding where shock absorption is crucial.
Aesthetically, the late-90's styling provides a nostalgic touch, while the exaggerated N branding adds a modern twist. The combination of leather and textile create a premium feel that doesn't compromise on durability. The lace ghillies are a thoughtful design feature, allowing for a customized fit that can adapt to different foot shapes.
Durability is a significant selling point for the 808. The NDurance outsole has been engineered to withstand wear and tear, meaning these shoes can handle both street skating and everyday use. Additionally, the removable insole offers versatility for those who may wish to replace it with custom orthotics.
However, some users have noted that the shoes can feel slightly bulkier compared to other models, which might not appeal to everyone. If you're looking for a feather-light sneaker, you may want to explore alternatives.

Great outfit and great quality sneakers. Love this pair!
They're a bit stiff but they look amazing!
I always order size 11M. I never change it when people say a shoe fits a little different because it’s usually fine. So when people said it fits small, I ignored and ordered my usual 11. However, it was definitely too small. I swapped it with a larger size 11.5 and it fits okay.I have only skated them once, so can’t say much. Fits snug and stiff, but doesn’t bother me. I bought them for the cushion because I’m 33 and my knees feel like I’m 93. I’m impressed with the cushion. So far so good.Update after 10–15 hours of skating: the shoe really is narrow. This bothers me sometimes. The arch support also bothers me some because it’s really stiff and pronounce (I like flatter soles). However, I am still loving the cushion/support on all sides. The sole is excellent for impact protection. Your entire foot is really well padded. It’s an awesome shoe if you’re like me and want a tank around your foot. But beware if you have a normal or wide foot. My foot is narrow and it feels too narrow.
Runs about a half size small , great shoes
Oh man I really wanted to love this shoe, I really liked the way it looked. I wear a 11 in almost every shoe, and some a 10.5 so I would say I’m on the smaller side of 11. So I felt comfortable ordering these online without trying them on in a 11. When they came I was exited to try them on, the laces are also really tough to push through the holes but that’s easy fix. Anyway they are way too small and narrow, and very stiff and heavy. No way I could wear these, I even tried on a second time with thinner sock. So luckily for my 15 year old son who wears a 10 now I was able to give them to him and they fit perfect. Not sure if I will even try ordering a bigger size for me because I feel like they were definitely narrow and a bit stiff and heavy. It’s to bad because they are a cool looking shoe
Good quality and nice
Great shoe. Comfortable for walking. Very tight fit.
Shoes look great and are really well built which you should expect from NB...However for some reason these shoes have insanely high arch support in them, unlike any skateboarding shoe I've ever had which have almost all had flat or nearly flat arches. My feet ache for days after wearing for a couple hours. Had to return for a refund.
