The Emerica The Romero Laced skate shoes are a standout choice for anyone serious about skateboarding. Designed by professional skater Leo Romero, these stylish shoes have been meticulously crafted to meet the high standards of the skate community. With their updated features and classic aesthetic, they provide both functionality and flair.
Feature | Emerica The Romero Laced | Vans SK8-Hi Pro | Nike SB Dunk Low |
---|---|---|---|
Boardfeel | Excellent due to low profile cupsole | Good but higher sole reduces sensitivity | Very good with responsive cushioning |
DURABILITY | High-density rubber heel drag pod | Reinforced toe cap | Durable materials used |
Fit | Tongue stabilizing wing for snug fit | Classic high-top support | Modern fit with lockdown lacing |
The Emerica The Romero Laced skate shoes excel in providing an exceptional balance of style, comfort, and performance on your skateboard. The low profile cupsole offers a heightened boardfeel that allows you to connect more with your deck, giving you the confidence to tackle any trick or grind.
One of the most impressive features is the Emerica Triangle Tread pattern, which incorporates a high-density rubber heel drag pod that provides unparalleled grip. This means not only do you get the required traction while skating, but it also contributes to the shoe’s overall durability, handling the wear and tear that comes with frequent use.
On the comfort front, the tongue stabilizing wing plays a crucial role. It ensures that the shoe hugs your foot securely without sacrificing mobility, allowing you to focus on your performance rather than readjusting your footwear mid-ride. Whether you're grinding up a rail or cruising down the street, the snug fit offers peace of mind.
However, it’s worth noting that while the style and features make them appealing, some users have mentioned that the fit can be on the narrower side. If you have wider feet, you might want to consider trying them on first or opting for a half size up. Additionally, the limited color options could deter those looking for something unique.
Overall, if you’re in search of a reliable pair of skate shoes that deliver on performance without compromising on style, the Emerica The Romero Laced is definitely worth considering.

They look nice, but if you're wearing low cut socks/no socks, the back of your ankles will bleed.Edit 03/22/23: Now that they've been broken in, they're pretty good.
Was stoked to find the shoes I wore in high school but only to find that they are much bigger (and yes I sized down as they are men’s)Tried returning them once I finally wore them about 2 weeks after they came and was bummed they weren’t just 2 sizes too big but the return window was closed pretty quick. I gave it a shot messaging them to see if I could replace them w a smaller size or even a different pair but was pretty shocked to find out that no one would respond. So unfortunately I’m stuck with them and also soured my nostalgic love for emerica.
