Emerica pro model shoes have always been my go-to for skating. Over the years I’ve worn and loved the Reynolds, Thomas, Templetons, Hsu’s and recently the Provosts. After skating in these for around 26 hours over the past week, I can definitely say the Dicksons are a welcome addition to the Emerica legacy. Here’s my personal rundown.Pros:-The suede uppers are sturdy and durable. There is the expected discoloration and light fraying in the ollie and kick/heelflip areas, but it still feels like there’s way more layers to dig through.-The rubber foxing around the toe bed is thick as a brick…and perfect.-The G6 insoles. Great all around for heel impact absorption, comfort, and can be replaced easily with new ones (for $20) if the originals get blown out.-The rubber underlay flick shield is very appreciated and a useful feature. However…Cons:-The suede that is stitched over the rubber flick shield has started to separate. It seems the stitching that is used to hold both of these together isn’t that strong, and I’m worried that I’ll eventually have to deal with a loose flap of suede while skating. Hopefully it’s just the top area of stitching and it stays somewhat in place.-The Lycra tongue straps are great for helping to hold your foot and the tongue stable, but if you do have wide feet like me they can feel constrictive. They will take some getting used to if you’re not used to having them in previous skate shoes. If you’re looking for great skate shoes, I highly recommend the Dicksons. Emerica always delivers with durable, quality skate shoes. I’m absolutely looking forward to skating the hell out of these to see how much mileage they’ll give me. When they give out, I have no problem paying for another pair.
My son loves these shoes. He says they fit him perfectly (size 11) and are very comfortable. His previous pair lasted 2 years, and that includes last summer spent in the wilds of Montana.
The shoes were tight at first but they were broken in within a few days and now they are very comfortable to wear and can go with any outfit.
Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the shoes are pretty tight at the front end. I comfortably wear a standard size 12, and I feel like I need a 12 wide in this shoe.
Really comfortable shoes that look sick and lasted me over a year. Granted, I wasn't skating these so your mileage may vary, however I was working at Fedex with them for half their lifespan, so they definitely got a decent amount of abuse.
Great shoes! Quality and the look is great! Fits like a glove! Exactly what I wanted!
Bought these shoes for my husband and he absolutely loves them!! Highly recommend for a good price as well.
