Definitely built with better quality than vans. I personally like vans for myself but my 12 year old son will legitimately wear holes and tears all the way through them in 3 weeks. It was becoming way too costly buying him shoes that often and his feet were always hurting. I waited to write this review until he has been wearing these for over a month… and I got to say they have held up amazingly! They actually still look new, my son loves the style, he says they are super comfortable. You really can’t beat the price either, at least not for a brand name shoe!As far as sizing they were true to size. His feet are growing quickly at this age and he’s in between a 9 and 9.5, so I went with the 9.5. He also has flat and wide feet causing a lot of shoes to be uncomfortable. No complaints w these.He has told me several times “I really like these shoes mom” which if you know 7th grade boys then you know they’re not always ones to throw information at mom.
toe box was a bit snug,,however,,i have a super wide foot,,they loosened up nicely,after wearing 3 or 4 times.they look really nice also,,,loyal to DC😎✌
If you like Vans style shoes, then you will love the DC Anvil series. They fit similarly but with better arch support. Anyone that wears Vans knows that these things are terrible in that department. These feel good and look great! I have a few pairs of these DC Anvils (different styles) and wear them all the time. This particular style is not my favorite but they work. The pattern on the tongue and heel looks like a Southwest motif. But if you wear pants, they will cover most of the pattern and they will just look straight black. I would buy again. Note that they run small. I bought about a size up. I ordered my original size at first and returned because they were way too small.
I purchased these sneakers because I liked the color and style, plus they were on special. I usually take a size 10.5 but these were far too tight, especially at the top of the toes and to the sides of my feet. I gave them to my room-mate as an early Christmas gift (he was thrilled with them). I then ordered other Sneakers in the DC range and went for size 11 this time (they are a very snug fit so I should really have gone a whole size up, not just half). I think the size difference to other footwear is probably because the materials are thick and padded, so there's obviously a little less room inside each shoe.I know some people can't afford to make these kinds of mistakes, as some other Reviewers did mention the size issue, so I definitely recommend you order one full size larger, as a minimum.Depending on what you pay when you order, I would still consider these good value for money, it's just a shame I can't speak to the comfort levels. I will post reviews on the other "DC" branded shoes I just got delivered today when I've had some time to try them out. This is the only reason I give four stars and not five - they could have fit better in hindsight, and maybe the manufacturer could think about publicizing this when they sell this tight-fitting range.
As a skilled veteran skateboarder, I've had a lot of experience with different skate shoes but this time was particularly interesting because these are my first pair of shoes I've ordered online and my first pair of DC's. DC always has that stigma of being a poser company but that I think majority of that comes from anti-fanboy skaters. Shoes are shoes for the most part.I think as shoes, they do complete their purpose of protecting my feet and gripping my board surprising well. Aesthetically I think they are great looking. A hip skate shoe that doesn't blast that DC logo all over the shoe like grafitti.Very important note as my title suggests; one reviewer added to order a size larger than normal because they do run small. They were right!I'm more than happy with this purchase, for the money, for the aesthetics, they were a hit for me.
