Just can't go wrong w/ the Saucony Ride!!

Even though Amazon has dropped the price of these since I ordered in June, of course I still highly recommend them. Saucony running shoes are my holy grail shoe for absolutely everything. I started wearing them close to ten years ago with some form of this style (maybe the Ride 3?) and then got the Ride 6 a couple of years ago which lasted 750+ miles (granted, these were not all running miles, but mileage nonetheless). While I still had the Ride 6, I even tried the Saucony Cohesion (way cheaper and albeit still a decent shoe but you really do get a better shoe with the price jump, meaning to these). I have very high arches and as a rule, high arched runners can underpronate so do best in a neutral-cushioned shoe that encourages a more natural foot motion which these are. Do not go with stability, which a lot of Saucony shoes in prettier colors are.I also suggest an additional cushioning insole...don't waste your money on "custom" the $70+ ones that are out there; the generic $20 cushioning work just as well. I do not know if you can get these on Amazon as I buy mine at Roadrunner Sports. I noticed that with the Ride 8 though that I went a good two months with just the provided insole and was very comfortable. It is only now because it is getting hot that I switched to a different insole as they help cool a bit more than the standard ones and I do not have especially sweaty feet but anything I can do to be just that more comfortable i will do.The Ride 8 also feature the better CoolMax liner which is awesome. The toe box is quite adequate even when I do swell a bit more (I have primary lower extremity Lymphedema which actually starts at my ankles, extending to my thighs so my feet really aren't that affected but on the occasions that my feet do also swell up a bit more, I merely lace my shoe differently and it relieves any pressure across the top of my foot. It's amazing what changing the lacing technique can do so I check out this guide [...] (The site is actually called Ian's Shoelace Site or if you just search for lacing methods, it will pop up since I don't know if the link will work).I would also poke around online in regard to pronation - that really is the most essential factor in getting the right fit for a running shoe. Finally, the Ride 8 have an 8mm heel to toe offset and I know at some point in the recent past I either had a shoe or tried a shoe that was a 12mm heel to toe offset and the 8mm are SO much better! Once again, read up on the specifics of what exactly this means but for me, it made a noticeable improvement in comfort, etc.I tried going back to Asics as well since I wore those in high school and college but I'm a Saucony girl now and of course to each is own, but if you're not certain, treat yourself to the Saucony experience.

So happy to find this shoe!

My feet hurt...especially the morning after a 12 hour shift. If I'm not wearing good shoes, sometime during those 12 hours my knees start to hurt and eventually my back gets stiff. I got fitted by a local running store for these shoes and bought them. Guess what. They were a God send for me. I didn't even need the orthotic I bought! They feel great and I'm light on my feet for the entire day! Pain free! After nearly 8 months of wear I noticed my low back was getting somewhat stiff so I went to get another pair and the Ride 9's had been released already. I was so worried that I wouldn't find these again so I jumped online and bought two more pair of 8's before I couldn't find them anymore. I've got a work pair and a daily pair and don't want to be without them! They're a neutral shoe but give plenty of arch support. They aren't heavy like the Brooks shoes I've tried and they fit perfectly. I'm a size 9W and they fit like they should. I've been so pleased with this shoe. They're supportive AND beautiful. I've absolutely no complaints about this shoe.

Great running shoe that won't break the bank!

These shoes are great! I'm a beginner runner and started out walking and thought it was a good idea to invest in some good running shoes. I have no arch at all and these shoes are ideal! The first time I wore them my feet were a bit sore, but I coughed it up to "bare through the stage of breaking my shoes in". After my second run, I had no problems. It's like running on air. I would highly recommend these shoes to any avid runners. I went to the running store and was measured first before I purchased these shoes online. I normally wear a size 9 and she measured me for a 10/10.5 running shoe because your feet do tend to swell while running. I went with the 10 and they are perfect! If you would like a comfortable, inexpensive and cute running shoe this is it. I tried on some other name brands such as Brooks but the Brooks did not fit me well at all.

Great shoe but too short.

A really good looking shoe but too short. I ordered a pair of these, a pair of Guide 8 and a pair of Omni 13. The Omni 13 was the only style that was not too short. My left big toe comes to the very end of both the Ride 8 and the Guide 8.I really like Saucony running shoes for everyday wear because they weigh "almost nothing" and are so comfortable, and yet give me good support when I walk. I am not a runner. I have a pair of Guide 6 that I've worn for a few years and they are still a very good shoe. When I ordered those I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered an 8 1/2 which is a half size longer than my regular shoes. I did the same for this pair.I was sad to have to return this pair.I know that the same shoe in the same size can run differently from one shoe box to another, but am not willing to keep ordering in hopes that I might eventually wind up with one pair that is not too short in the toes.

Saucony Convert

I am loving these shoes!!!! So happy with them. I started running this summer and after a couple weeks developed plantar fasciitis and pain under the ball of my foot. I think it was due to wearing old sneakers so I began looking for a new pair to help my poor feet. I knew I underpronated (foot rolls outward when walking/running) so I searched for shoes to fit that need. I came across Asics Gel Nimbus 18 and decided to bite the bullet and spend $150 to try them. I liked how much cushion there was but it was almost too much and felt heavy. Plus the sizing was off, 8.5 was too tight, 9 still didn't fit "right". The toe box has definitely been narrowed compared to past Asics. I started looking for other shoes and saw the Saucony Ride 8. I also found a review that said it was quite similar to Asics Gel Nimbus 18 but lighter. It was soo much cheaper so I figured why not try it? If you are on the fence like I was, do yourself a favor and order them!! I am so glad I did. After wearing them for the past 2 days, my feet barely hurt. And this was after weeks of daily foot pain. It is like walking with a spring in your step! So light and comfortable, thank you Saucony!!!!
