From about the age 20 to 50, I was a hard training endurance athlete. About 50 or so, I change my routine to trail running and sprinting instead of long distance running. I have to say, this is the best all-around shoe I think I’ve had. Period.Really very comfortable and the insole is unique in a way. It’s like memory foam, but not too squishy. It’s firm but has a perfect kind of, flexibility, and cushion. The toebox is perfect and just bought another pair for back up. Highly recommended.Oh. The lacing system. At first, didn’t quite get it for a minute. But it’s outstanding. It’s like a drawstring that you can pull up tight and a small plastic piece slides down over the tongue for a firm grip. Really very well thought out.
With different Styles and abundant choices on today’s market, finding the right shoes can be tricky. I’ve tried different brands and styles. I now find myself coming back home to Salomon. Their comfort, quality and style are paramount in my decision making. I am an active 49 yo male whom stands a lot. I experienced foot pain and foot fatigue before. Solomon with their Ortho inserts and quality build shoes has corrected and eliminated my discomfort. I purchase a new pair every other month to keep rotating to my existing others Salomon fleet. I just love these shoes…
It's an ok well built hiking shoe. Not sure why the site sometimes lists it as a trail runner, I find the salomons speedcross 6 forces in ranger green to be a better fit for me. It does come in a wide fit but the xa pro 3d V8, not a good fit for me.
Comfortable and support my large foot through the day.
Great shoe for hiking, biking and more. Lacing is strong and secure. Well made. Sizing is accurate. Love this brand
These are very sturdy and last a long time. I got about 700 miles per pair on both the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Coast Trail. The main wear points were the insole and the tread as would be expected. The upper part of the shoes did not rip or cause any issues.
Best Hiking Shoes, this ones and all the Salomon Brand shoes that I own
I saw these shoes at a lot of pistol training classes (on instructors and students), so I figured they must be good. Well, this specific model has not been. In just a few months, a seam split. I contacted the company and they sent me another pair. Ok, great service. But, this second pair has been just as poorly constructed. The material behind the heel quickly tore and has worn off, leaving the piece of plastic exposed. Seriously, I've had Sketchers that held together better than these.
