I was so worried since I ordered these right before our big hike out west for 3 weeks. These guys were the MOST comfy and handled treacherous conditions. I cannot say enough good about these guys! I have a super flat foot, so Merrells KILL my feet. My size is super narrow, but I like a lot of toe room because I have ingrown toenails on both big toes. I have to really lace them tight though because they don't make them in a narrow. If they did... they would literally be the best hiking shoe ever!! These shoes are super durable...water proof...very grippy.. and not too heavy. They.are.awesome!

These boots not only actually fit my gigantic feet, but are also quite comfortable and stylish. As someone who has been wearing combat boots every day for the past 20+ years, these are a wonderful replacement and transition.I really like how easy they are to put on and lace up, but my favorite thing is how well they grip the ground whether soft dirt or wet concrete. I haven't tried them on ice yet, but otherwise they have been great in the PNW.
I am surprised by how comfortable these are! Hiking boots usually need a little time to be broken in but not these. They are soft, warm and cozy with excellent support. I have owned Salomon’s in the past and they were a little narrow in the toe - these are definitely wider and fit perfect. I wear them for walking dogs in the fall/winter and for hiking trails. I hope they hold up longer than my Merrell’s which lasted only 3 months before the waterproofing stopped working and they got holes. My only complaint is the laces. These kind of laces always come loose so I replaced them with no tie laces which you can find for $5 on Amazon. Very happy with my purchase!UPDATE: NOT WATERPROOF! So bummed! Within the first week of owning these I noticed my toes were wet!!! Had them for a few months now and my socks are soaking if I wear these in wet grass or snow. Disappointed!!
Tried these on and was impressed. They do not need breaking in. I’ll update my post after my first hike with them - but so far, the quality appears superb and they are comfy with an extra 1/4” at the toe. I’m a true size 6 and after reading reviews on here, I’m happy I didn’t size up and stuck with my size. The color is amazing. The picture doesn’t do these justice.
At first,I bought these shoes for trial. First day I wore it and went for shopping, came back with a lower half leg pain.But my son told me to try it for hiking,so thought to give it a try because our hiking trip was already made for Canada. Within 2 days we went to Canada and started our hiking in Jasper National park, Banff, Calgiri etc. We hiked 20 days in a row . As a newbie, these hiking were quite tough for me, but being very honest that these shoes helped me a lot and made my hiking quite easy. Grip or traction was quite good. Everyone in the group were wearing good hiking shoes, but I noticed I was the one who never slipped even for a bit. Most definitely I was cautious too, still shoes helped me noticeably. I was able to cross or go in some water too without getting my feet wet. Important thing I noticed was even after such a tough hike of miles and miles, night time my feet or legs were not achy or tired, not bruised. We went on glaciers too and there I could feel a good grip on the ice too. My shoe size is 5, quite a small feet and very tough to find choice of my shoes . But I loved these shoes. wine color is so beautiful. My feet are thin, so never felt the room problem. It's comfortable for me. weight is definitely little more than regular everyday very lightweight shoes, but definitely not horrible. Soon I adapted the weight, but little less could be more better. After hiking, going for shopping or roaming here and there didn't made my feet hurt. Within a week of trial, I bought these shoes and had great hiking experience. Thanks to Amazon for giving us the option for trial. Would definitely recommend these shoes.
Hello I ordered these shoes and they arrived today 3 hours ago. I decide to try them inside my house while I watered my houseplants. I some how took a step and the hook from one shoe hooked the lace shoe from the other shoe, I fell badly, slipped in the floor with impulse and hit against the wall with my head. My neck folded. I have the most horrible bump in my forehead and almost broke my neck. Called Salomon customers service and talked to the most cold hearted person who basically didn't care. I had read some reviews of people reporting that the hook from one shoe can hook the shoe lace from the other shoe. I regret not having taken this advice seriously. These shoes should be taken out of the market asap. It's very irresponsible to sell them to people. You can get killed.I've had Merrell and Vasque hiking boots in the past with hooks for shoelaces and never had a problem. This shoes have a very serious design issue.
Toes still get damp in dewy high grass. Disappointed. Maybe I got a faulty pair? Very comfortable and great traction.
