When you slip into the Nike Men's Downshifter 9, the first thing you'll notice is the exceptional fit provided by the open mesh design. This feature keeps your feet cool and comfortable, which is crucial during longer runs.
The closed mesh sections through the midfoot and heel offer much-needed support, enhancing stability as you navigate various terrains. Whether you're hitting the pavement or the treadmill, these shoes adapt well to different surfaces.
The articulated, full-length midsole is another highlight, offering resilient cushioning that absorbs impact effectively without compromising flexibility. You'll appreciate how it helps to cushion each stride, making long runs feel less daunting.
One aspect worth mentioning is the flex grooves that allow for natural foot movement, promoting a more efficient running gait. While the durability of the outsole adds another layer of confidence when it comes to traction, it’s important to keep in mind that runners with wider feet may find the fit slightly constraining.
In summary, the Nike Men's Downshifter 9 Running Shoe excels in providing comfort, support, and performance for a variety of running activities. It stands out as a reliable option for both casual runners and more serious athletes looking for a dependable shoe.

For those that want a Nike that's comfortable and has different width this is your shoe. I like that they have these shoes wide enough. The comfort on the shoe has been amazing, I broke them in by walking around with them for a few days and today I had my first run. I like the color as well. I haven't purchased a Nike shoe in a while because they can be very expensive, but this one was just right in price and definitely great quality.
Fits perfectly right out of the box use them for gym shoes
Had these since Dec 2019 and wear them about 3-4 times a week for moderate weight lifting and the occasional 5k (averaging 1-2 a month). Shoes still look and feel great, and the soles are still fully attached (which is rare for me after 2 years), though the tread is significantly worn down (as expected). Given the opportunity I would to buy these again!
Nice tennis for walking
Amazing support for the price.I have used this shoe for a year and a half and couldn’t find my size until now and I bought 3 more of these from the Nike website and from Nike Outlet. By far one of the best versatile shoe for work and daily use, I’m glad they started carrying my size once again.Provides great comfort, great lateral supports and very light weight, great shoes for being on my feet for 8-12hrs in a day in the hospital.
These shoes are great! My husband snapped both of his knees last year and so far all the shoes he is worn have caused him knee pain. I got him these shoes and he has been a lot more comfortable and said that his knee pain has almost gone away completely when he walks. Plus they look great. I will be buying these again when he wears them out.
The shoes were a gist and the feedback is that they are working great and fitting well.
I normally wear a women's size 12 in walker/jogger shoes. In my experience, that is normally equivalent to a Men's size 10. (My true size is 11.5 but I like a little extra room in walker/joggers) I walk a lot and sometimes jog, not much into real running. I ordered these in Men's size 10.5 and I'm glad I did because they fit just right plus a little room left to wiggle my toes. I have bunions on both feet but my left foot is worse and it's a little bigger than my right foot - I know, I have jacked up feet! It's very hard for me to find comfortable shoes that also fit right so these were a good choice for me. My opinion: Nike Men's Downshifter 9 Running Shoe 10.5 = women's 12.
