I purchased these with the intention of traveling in them -- I wanted something lightweight, comfortable for 10+ miles of daily walking, a non-white sole (because I have a hard time keeping my shoes clean!), and not a glaring "American tourist sneaker." A lot of boxes to check, but this shoe did it. I looked into the Allbirds shoes for traveling, but heard that the wool tends to pick up leaves and debris if you're off-roading at all, which I am. The light tan color of these should keep them from showing small amounts of dirt. The first day of break-in was great: I mowed the lawn, worked in the yard, went to the gym, rode a bike, and ran a half mile in them. I did not miss a beat in these shoes. There was no rubbing anywhere, and I forgot I was wearing them. I wore them without socks for a bit and with socks for a bit -- they were great both ways. I also want to mention that these made a great Crossfit shoe: they have a slight lift in the heel that imitates weight-lifting shoes, but not so much that you can't run in them or wear them for ordinary activities. The sizing is about a half size small. I am typically a 9.5 and purchased a 10 after reading reviews. Very glad I went up to the 10. There is room in the toe box, but they are more snug around the ankles. One thing that wasn't obvious from the picture is that the tongue is not separate from the shoe. I thought that would be a problem when I took them out of the box, but after a couple of on-and-offs they are fine. I would not recommend these if you have any mobility issues with pulling things toward you, as these shoes are more difficult to put on at first due to the attached tongue. Still, I love them and might get another color for casual wear.
This is my second pair these sneakers do not seize to amaze me.My first pair is a size 8 (my usual shoe size) but they seem a bit snug, as in ¼" of a inch snug nothing mayor, in my case. I continue to use them and love their sole its comfortable, slight arch (which accommodates my type of foot perfectly), very monochromatic, stylish, slip on and go type of shoe, I have recently started using them for light jogs with my dog out on the concrete and have a good cushion.I decided to order a second pair (half a size up to experiment the issue some other reviews commented on sizing a half up and it worked perfectly) strictly black for my work attire and ended up using them all the time. I still use both pair just as much even though one is 8 and the other 8 ½, but that my case in which it works; I use thin socks with the snug pair balances it out.I highly recommend these shoes.
They are slip-ons – so there’s no tongue to wrinkle and irritate the top of your foot – there’s a handy loop at the back of the heel you can use to help slip them on. The laces are there so you can adjust the snugness of the fit; they stay tied (don't have to be double-knotted) and are unobtrusive (unlike the laces on my last pair – different brand – they were so long and stiff that they stuck up like rabbits’ ears). There are small U-shaped cushions that encircle the bottom perimeters of each ankle – helps the shoe stay in place and allows the heel to be free from rubbing or pressure. I used to have occasional twinges of fasciitis – it has not flared up since I’ve been wearing these shoes. I've had them two and a half weeks and I wear them all day – every day – on carpet, tile, concrete, asphalt, gravel, and dusty paths – they’re comfortable and sturdy on every surface – and the color “black/sea salt” doesn’t show the dirt.
I am extremely happy with my New Balance Women’s Cruz v1 Retro Hoodie Running Shoe! This is a great choice if you’re looking for a stylish, comfortable, and durable tennis shoe that is reasonably priced. The quality is suitable for varying levels of activity and the style is perfect for both running errands and going to the gym.Sizing:I typically wear a size 8 or 8.5 in tennis shoes, but I decided to play it safe and order in an 8.5 and 9 after reading some other customer reviews. The 8.5 fit me really well, so if you are between sizes I would recommend going with the larger of the two. While the shoe does run a bit small, the width is fairly standard. Most colors are also available in a narrow width option, which is great for those who prefer that fit.Returning the extra pair would have been a very quick and easy process since I ordered this using my Prime Wardrobe account, but my mother got her hands on the extra pair before I could send them back! She typically wears a 7.5, so the size 8 fit her perfectly.Color:My pair is in the Silver Mink/Outerspace color combination. The grey color has very cool undertones and goes well with just about any color combination you may choose to pair it with. The pair that my mom kept is in the Black/Phantom combination. Both look very sleek and go with just about anything.Comfort:If you are like me and have high arches, this is a great choice. I typically need to order arch support inserts for most shoes I buy, but that was not necessary with this pair from New Balance.Overall Rating:All in all, I really enjoyed the quality and fit of this shoe. The color and style were just the icing on top. Sizing is the only downfall that I could find with this shoe, so be sure to order up if you are between sizes! This shoe is a great choice for various levels of activity. If you are a regular jogger or runner, I’m sure this shoe would fit your needs. I, however, am more of the type to run to/from the grocery store about once per week. Whether it’s a half marathon or an afternoon spent binging your favorite Netflix series, these shoes are both comfortable and stylish enough to get the job done.
I absolutely love these shoes. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. I have been 100% Nike for the past 14 years but my last pair were so uncomfortable and I was ready to try something new. I can’t say enough about how much I love these shoes. I wear them almost daily and in basically every setting. They are great for running and walking, so light and comfortable, great breathability, they stay put on your foot. But they’re also really cute and I wear them with jeans and go to work or out to dinner. I typically wear a 10 but ordered a 10.5 after I read some other reviews. I was worried about them looking dirty after a while since they’re so light, but I haven’t really had a problem. I took a magic eraser to them to touch up the soles and get a darker spot off the toe and then they looked as good as new again! Highly recommend these shoes.
I got the sneakers as a gift, and I normally wear a 6 1/2 and these are a size 7 and they fit perfect, so then I bought a pair for a birthday gift and that person wears a 7 1/2 and I bought a size 8 and they stated they fit perfectly! So I would definitely buy a size up. I wore them to Disney and they were perfect, nice and light and comfortable, however the second time I wore them to Disney I did get a blister on the outside side of my heel as well as wearing them a 2nd time to Disney I got another blister in same place, so I got some gel inserts and not a problem since, I would definitely recommend and also get inserts.
Love this style. BUT, I’m so glad I read everyone’s reviews. Thank you!! My tennis shoes vary from a women’s 7 to 7.5. I even have a couple size 8, (if they run narrow, I have to wear an 8) I have a wide foot. I ordered an 8.5 & they fit perfectly. I probably could’ve gotten away with a 9 but I couldn’t fathom ordering a NINE when I’ve never been bigger than an 8. The opening is SO small so it’s hard to get my foot in but once it’s in, it fits great. I have about 3/4 of an inch between the end of my toe & the top of the shoe. But yes, they require effort to put on, that’s for sure. I also ordered them in a D (8.5D) to account for my wide foot. Wise choice. These shoes have an edge above the rest in the looks alone.
Comfortable, light weight and looks great! I wear either 8.5 and 9 sizes and went with the 8.5. My feet fit snug, but not too small. I imagine the 9 would be too large and roomy. I now wear these as my go-to shoe for the gym and walking around. Tons of support and not too much of an arch. I have very flat feet and they can get irritated if there is too big of an arch. Also, purchasing through Amazon let me get free shipping vs. buying directly on the New Balance site. Very happy with my purchase!
