The New Balance Women's 840 V3 Walking Shoe stands out for its remarkable cushioning thanks to the ABZORB midsole. This feature allows the shoe to absorb impact effectively, which is crucial for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet. You will appreciate the balance of cushioning and support, especially on longer walks or during daily activities.
When it comes to breathability, the leather upper enhances airflow, helping to keep your feet cool and comfortable throughout the day. This is particularly beneficial during warmer months, as overheating can lead to discomfort, but you won’t have to worry about that here.
The lace-up closure provides a customizable fit, allowing you to adjust the tightness according to your preference. This snug fit prevents unnecessary slipping and helps in maintaining stability while walking. The overall build quality of the shoe is commendable, showcasing New Balance’s commitment to durability and longevity.
That said, like many good things, these shoes come with a few caveats. While they do offer substantial support and comfort, some users may find them heavier than other walking shoes, which might deter those looking for lightweight options. Additionally, new wearers might experience a break-in period before achieving ultimate comfort.
In conclusion, if you’re searching for a walking shoe that combines comfort, style, and ethical manufacturing practices, the New Balance Women's 840 V3 Walking Shoe is an excellent choice. Whether you're strolling through the park or running errands around town, these shoes are designed to support your active lifestyle.

I have loved New Balance shoes for many years and this pair is no exception. I used to be an avid walker until knee pain stopped me. When my knee replacement started to fail after 5 years, I learned that my bones had been compromised by years of cancer meds and now I fear falling! These shoes give me support and stability. They are lightweight enough to not tire my legs out. They are not the prettiest pair of shoes, but at my age that is the least of my concerns. They were comfortable from the first day - no breaking them in like other shoes require. I highly recommend them for everyday wear or comfortable walking.
This is still the best shoe for accommodating orthopedic inserts. The tall toe box gives plenty of room for an insert and comfortable for walking. The leather just seems to hold up the best.
My mom previously used another 800# NB shoe to use with her inserts, but that number is no longer available. We tried this one, and it worked perfectly! She said they feel light and comfortable. (And a great price!!)
I ordered size 9 wide. They fit well but there was no cushion comfort. I had to buy Dr. Scholl's insoles. It made a huge difference so I am able to keep the shoes.
Extremely comfortable shoe! Nice, wide, roomy toe box. Footbed is firm, but fitting and does not rub or cause blisters. Was extremely please to find these in a womens size 12 wide.
These are the best New Balance women's extra wide shoes that I've found in a couple of years re: they have a wide toe box and relatively narrow heel (L-last, I think), but they have faults. I usually wear 8.5-9ww, but had to go up to 9.5ww in these. For some reason, the laces on the size 9ww are freakishly small (can't tie a full bow), but the laces on the 9.5ww are fine. (I'm stuck with the expensive 9ww due to short return window.) My gait felt a little awkward/clunky in these until I replaced the insoles with Dr. S. low back pain relief insoles (I cut down men's insoles to fit the women's x-wide). I wish the shoes didn't have bright white mesh at the top because it shows dirt in no time, and there's no way to clean it like the rest of the shoe. Anyway, my wide toes are pretty happy.
These NB fit me perfectly as usual. I’m not even a runner but they have the best support and comfort.
This didn't ship from Amazon Fullfillment as advertised, it shipped from a private place in MD. The shoes were in a box with no top and none of the usual tissue stuffing was in the box. They do appear unworn. The right shoe is not the 62E as the label says it should be, it is more of a 5.5 E or 2E. I have 3 other pairs of these shoes, one is brand new and not ever worn. Compared them and the right shoe is shorter by about 1/2". Unfortunately my right foot is the larger of the two. Returned.
