When it comes to running shoes that combine both performance and comfort, the New Balance Women's 1540 V3 stands out as a solid choice. This shoe is specifically designed for those who demand more from their athletic footwear. The innovative ENCAP midsole technology ensures that you get the right mix of cushioning and durability, allowing you to tackle everything from casual jogs to intense training sessions with ease.
However, it's important to note that as of April 2021, the 1540v3 will no longer be produced in the United States, marking a significant change for fans of this model.

The New Balance Women's 1540 V3 Running Shoe offers an impressive blend of technology and design aimed at providing superior support and stability during your runs. The ENCAP midsole technology allows for plush cushioning without losing responsiveness, making it ideal for long distances and varied terrains.
With the ROLLBAR stability post system incorporated, you can expect enhanced control over your rear-foot movement, which helps in maintaining proper form while reducing fatigue. This feature is particularly beneficial for runners who may struggle with overpronation or require additional support.
In terms of aesthetic appeal, the combination of breathable mesh and synthetic materials not only looks sleek but also ensures ventilation during those warmer runs. You’ll appreciate the stylish appearance whether you’re hitting the trails or heading to the gym.
However, it is crucial to consider your foot type before purchasing. This model tends to have a wider fit which might not suit individuals with narrow feet. Additionally, with the production ceasing in the USA, sourcing your perfect pair may become more challenging.

I have worn this company’s shoes for over 20 years, after a car accident split my heel and discovered I was born with fused talar bones. Supportive shoes are comfortable, wear a long time and are wide enough for my 6 EEEE feet!
I’ve had several hip and knee surgeries and I started walking weird to compensate for the pain. I am having trouble getting my walking back yo normal and a local foot/shoe store recommended this New Balance shoe for me. It supports my ankle so I have better balance. They are so comfortable too.
I bought the 1123 probably 23 years ago for my plantar fasciitis. It has been a great shoe. Last year I went to the new balance store and asked for the replacement for that number. The lady sold me an 840/4. While a great shoe with a nice toe box for my wide foot it constantly hurts the top of my foot. I decided to do some research instead of trusting a salesperson. I found the 1540v3 is the replacement shoe. I ordered it and on Friday received a 1540 B. I immediately went to the order form and said they sent me the wrong width. They sent me the info to return it and today on Sunday I received the right shoe. GREAT SERVICE. I have not gone for a walk but putting the 1123 on my left foot and the 1540 on my right foot they feel very comparable. The 1540 is super comfy and not rubbing on the top on my foot. So I would recommend this shoe if you are looking for something that compares with the 1123.
I have had my feet measured at a new balance store, and ordered the size I was told but these shoes were too big, my feet drowned in them.
3 rd pair… stable, roomy, 8D, consistently the same
Great support
Great fit, slip resistance, light weight, great versatile color
I bought this pair of New Balance 1540V3 4E in March 2023, these holes happened in a 3 month time frame. I am a receptionist not a runner, hiker or world explorer. The pictures show the holes in the netting on the toes and sides of the shoes. I've bought New Balance throughout the years and they always lasted forever, they were however made in the USA. These shoes haven't even made it 4 months without breakdown. There are no holes in my socks only the netting on the shoes. I paid (round up) $172.00 for ONE pair that used to last years now last only months. I have contacted New Balance about the issue with these shoes. They stated no refund or replacement can be given however they will offer something to regain the cost of the shoe. Huh? Buyer beware. Thank you. ** I was given a coupon ode for $175.00 from New Balance towards a new pair of shoes. I am super grateful and thankful.!!"
