My wife and I went to Europe for the whole month of May. I have had back surgery and walking can hurt but I needed a good pair of walking shoes. I bought these Sketchers and was doubtful, when I ordered them, that they would be comfortable. Boy was I wrong! We walked over 125 miles with these shoes! And they still look brand new. I had brought other shoes to also wear. I never even put the other ones on! These shoes are amazing. Very comfortable and practical. Others had said they are on the small side, I wear a 9D and a size 9 fit me perfectly. If and when these shoes completely wear out (like in five years??) I will get another pair!
I like the heavy duty construction of this shoe. It is stable and the tread is firm and holds my foot well. It is good for heavier applications like long hikes and gardening. With the heavier sole, my balance is steady and I cannot feel the rocks through them. Although I prefer a lighter shoe for exercising or running but you give up a lot with the lighter thinner soles. The cheaper ones do not have the sturdy sole that this one has. This is a nice looking shoe. Overall it is an excellent shoe at an excellent price. On the negative side, it holds the heat and moisture from my foot when I sweat but the trade offs are worth it to me.
Husband said width is good but slightly smaller then new balance shoes usually are. The inside arch support is lacking and not what he was expecting from a new balance shoe. Otherwise it's good

I have a narrowish foot, between B and C. If a wide size is available, medium usually fits me pretty good. But not these. When I go to tie them they have a big wrinkled/gathered area at the front of the lacing area. Which means they're really loose. Which, along with the round laces, which look nice, contributes to them coming untied. I ordered a half size longer than I measure as that seems to be a trend, and length is fine.On the good side, the insole is really soft and cushy. Nice, I'd like to get used to that part on all my shoes.
This shoe fully met my expectations. It is very comfortable and offers both great support and light weight. An excellent shoe for the every day walker.
I have been wearing New Balance shoes for three years now because they are comfortable, good looking, well made and reasonably priced. But the most important reason is they have many offerings in 4E (extra wide) that I need so that my arch supports fit properly!
My grandson is tough on sneakers and outgrows them fast so I was looking for a sturdy but reasonably priced sneaker. These are comfortable and he likes them. It remains to be seen how well they hold up. I will update this if they do not wear well. Unfortunately the laces are terrible. They DO NOT STAY TIED no matter what method we try. I had to buy lace locks which adds considerable to the price of the shoe. The pull tab in the back also is ridiculously large and looks kind of stupid but doesn't affect the shoe itself.
