First time I have tried this line and I was amazed when I first put them on. They have provided life changing support that they deserved a review. All other running or walking shoes will feel generic now. I've tried other top shoe brands around a similar price range including the lower lines of New Balance below the 1080, and none feel like these. The cushioning on both the inner and outer soles provide top class luxury cushioning. It is definitely true on their description about how if they could make only one shoe it would be the X1080, their flagship shoe. These literally feel like you're walking on a cloud. I could feel the bag of marshmallow-like squishiness and support on EACH impact point of the step, you can feel the support cushion transfer in zones, its crazy. I'm glad they were released not too long ago, I'm totally going to get another pair or two for the future. Bonus too that they actually look sleek yet stylish and not all super sporty/flashy with multiple bright colors and stripes everywhere like other shoe brands. This is THE perfect walking/casual/running shoe! The cost is well worth it. Do it!
Love these shoes. They’re so comfortable and they look great.
Very soft sole on these shoes. Fit great and after a week or so of walk/running they still feel pretty cushy.
Perfect cushioning for planter fasciitis. They feel wonderful!
My teenage son loves these shoes! They are trendy, fit true to size and he can't quit raving about how much cushion the shoes have!
the most comfortable shoes I ever bought.Just like walking on marshmallows
I’ve worn aman since 1978, this model is, by and large, the best running shoes ever. I’m buying a second pair in blue…
NB Fresh Foam 1080 v13 is a highly altered running shoe from the 1080 v12, its previous version. Most like the change; others have commented that the foam cushioning is a bit much. After wearing these on a rather long run outside I can attest to both views. First of all, there is so much soft foam I had a difficult time standing on the carpet in my apartment or walking down the carpeted stairway to the street. I felt unbalanced as if I were walking on a floor in an amusement park ride or perhaps, in a minor earthquake. I mean, how soft is too soft? Once I got out to the street, I found the shoe to be stable and my balance was fine. I also felt that my balance was fine when I ran. I do hill and flat terrain training and I found myself putting in more effort than usual. It was as if I were working a lot harder to propel myself forward and after a few miles I was not as spry as I usually am after running in say, the Mizuno Wave Rider. Perhaps after a few more weeks I will have learned to navigate the extra foam, and hence run w/o anymore energy expenditure then before. I did notice that my heels were more protected in the extra foam and the low heel to toe ratio (a rating of 6) should protect the runner's knees as well. All in all these are good training shoes for moderately long runs but probably not the shoes you would utilize for speed intervals or for race day. In all likelihood, there will be some learning curve in running with the 1080 v13, but it should not be insurmountable.
