The New Balance M840V5 excels in various areas crucial for runners. First, let’s talk about comfort. The ABZORB midsole plays a significant role in providing excellent cushioning. This feature helps absorb impacts effectively, allowing for a smoother ride whether you’re hitting the pavement or taking on a rugged trail.
Next, the fit is crucial when selecting running shoes. The breathable mesh upper with synthetic overlays offers flexibility and support where you need it most, ensuring that your foot remains secure without feeling constricted. The adjustable lace closure further allows you to personalize the fit, which can be a game changer for many runners.
In terms of durability, the rubber sole is designed to withstand wear and tear, providing reliable traction on various surfaces. Whether you're out for a quick jog or training for a marathon, this durability gives peace of mind.
However, while the New Balance M840V5 has outstanding features, potential buyers should be mindful that some users report these shoes may run slightly larger than expected. It might be wise to try them on or order a half-size down if you're looking for a snugger fit.

These are an amazing looking shoe. Soft, comfortable, good quality and priced right. I ordered a size 12, which I pretty much wear in everything (very rare instances I may go half size up or get a wide), but this fit like a 12.5. Not sure if this is common with NB... it's my first pair. I may give it another whirl since everything else seemed great.
Great 'cush', good toe box--both wide and high, good size and width selection make these an excellent choice! (I like them, also, but didn't want to match him so 'exactly' :) )
Fits as expected. Normal New Balance quality. Very stable with good arch support.
As someone who tends to walk outdoors on the sidewalk, streets, and pathways at all times of the year, these shoes just don't last. Roughly half a year is all it took for the pad inside to be worn away, the mesh cover over the toes to tear open, and the bottom of the shoe to be ground down to the foam.During the time I did use them though, they were pretty darn comfortable. Even when they began to show signs to wear and I felt like they could use a replacement, they were still doing it for me. But sometimes hitting 15 miles in 3-4 hours my feet and legs would be killing me, a decidable difference from when I first got the shoes and could go the same distance and time and still feel pretty good.So at the steep price point of $125.00, I can't really say these are worth the cost. I paid about $90 for two pairs of New Balance shoes from a brick and mortar store and while the one pair only lasted the same time, I'm onto the second pair and still $35 richer.
Great fit and good quality. Extra room in the toe box.Very popular...So of course New Balance has discontinued them with no similar replacement.
I got these for my Dad as our local Dicks Sporting goods was out of stock. Really fast shipping and they fit just right. Thank you.
THEY ARE COMFORTABLE - BUT NOT CHEAP
Looks great and fit was perfect.
