As expected, the quality is phenomenal ; reliability and the build is also excellent , it will probably outlast the Nike Alpha Fly's . The fit is perfect. If you like a snug fit and wear thin socks, I suggest you wear half a size smaller; if you like to wear thick socks go with ur reg. size. The Alphafly's in my pics have done about 200miles on pavement and as u can tell they are maybe 1/2 way to Eol- the sole at least;Back to the Mizuno's ! As I had mentioned before, the fit is perfect, the way it encapsulates the feet acts as perfect glove, and not only that, but compared to the feel of Alphafly's you have more traction, prob. also because of the small blue octopuses on the soles; those are really a very good innovation. Another important aspect is their breatability which is also excellent. For the ultimate protection of this impeccable design and craftsmanship, I suggest you always wash your WAVE NEO ULTRA in cold water for about five minutes after each run that last longer than 45 minutes ! The custom lacing for my pair or pairs was done by a highly skilled Japanese Pro, a sword master Mr. Shrewzukey Sakazaki , is a fifth generation master. That is a very high skill art , do not attempt to do this or you will ruin your laces or the shoes. did you see the laces are perfectly so there's no time wasted and it hugs perfectly because the measurements were done like I said before by the PRO , and it is the shoe laces ends burned off using the ancient tradition of the QuarryHiri. That is no replication of this tehnique.AGAIN, this shoes are the supreme excellence of the most highly coveted, perfect running masterpieces.I will attempt now to secure a second pair ASAP. They should be at least 275$ , better QUALITY AND RELIABILITY THEN THE NIKE ALPHAFLY !! The other Mizunos are still very good, but now the Wave Neo Ultra has SUPREMACY.
I have a LOT of experience with running shoes, used to own a sporting goods store called "Runner's Roost", and as you can tell by the name running was my specialty. Mizuno usually runs true to size, these are no different, I take a USA Men's 10, that's what I got, they fit perfectly.NOTE: I have a wider forefoot, Mizuno is a medium to wide last (width) so they fit me perfectly, however if you have a very narrow foot these may not be the best. The midsole (white and blue part of the shoe) is extremely cushioned, yet feels surprisingly stable, which is good since I tend to pronate a bit (common running pattern where your feet upon impact tend to roll inward towards your arch). Unfortunately, I am older now and do not run much like I used to, but I tested these out today on an easy 3 miler and they were simply awesome. Being so lightweight and comfortable they would make great casual shoes also if you're not into running. There are a couple warnings on the shoes, one is about the possibility of slight discoloration depending on the situation, this is common, extended periods of sunlight can darken the materials sometimes, especially when dealing with white, but this seldom happens. The other warning, if you know the functionality of athletic shoes, is straight forward. ALL running shoes are only made for forward motion like walking, jogging or running, NOT for lateral (side to side) motion like tennis, basketball or any other court sports. You are raised up in running shoes due to the thick cushioning layer in the midsoles and are basically sitting on top of the shoe, so they would tip over fairly easily if you used them for lateral movement, super high risk of ankle injuries. Court shoes are built lower to the ground and you sit inside the shoe, not on top, offering real good support for side to side. The tradeoff, running shoes can be much softer and more comfortable due to the design, courts shoes less so, if you plan on playing pickleball in these I would highly recommend you do not, get court shoes instead.
These shoes are well made of durable materials. There are no loose threads, no gobs of glue, no loose pieces. The laces are an acceptable weight lace. The design of the shoes is as shown and the fit is good per U.S. size scales.I like and recommend the shoes, they will pass your “hands on” test when they arrive so do not hesitate to order if you like the look.I will update this review if my feelings and experience with these shoes changes. They have only been worn a few times since receiving them and only time will tell how well they hold up. If they last a year I consider that a success.
Incredibly comfortable. I'm not a runner as I have back problems that are exacerbated by anything even remotely high impact, but I'm an enthusiastic walker who takes several 10-15 mile city walks each week to stay in shape, and I've always found that running shoes translate well to walking. These are no different.Right now I'm in Bangkok for the winter and have been using a basic, inexpensive pair of Under Armor sneakers to get in my miles, and they've been murder on my feet. I had to take multiple breaks at bus stops towards the end of my walks as the soles of my feet were throbbing beyond the 10 mile mark. After switching to the Mizuno Waves I can make the entire trip without a rest, and I no longer feel as if all the blood in my body is being squeezed into my poor feet. The cushioning here is exceptional. Even on hard sidewalks I feel like I'm bouncing down the street, and as the outsoles are relatively wide I feel secure on the often cracked paving of the Bangkok streets. With narrow outsoles you run the risk of turning your heel on cracked and wobbly paving stones, but with the Waves I feel very planted.I love these things, and I hope they'll survive the punishment.
