Detailed Review

When you slip on the Mizuno Men's Wave Sky 7, you're stepping into a world of running comfort. The standout feature of this shoe is undoubtedly the MIZUNO ENERZY technology — it delivers an astonishing level of energy return while ensuring softness underfoot. Whether you're on a short jog or a long run, you'll notice how the extra cushioning helps absorb impact effectively.

The shoe’s stretch woven upper not only hugs your foot securely but also allows for breathability, making it suitable for various weather conditions. This feature contributes to a sock-like feel that many runners appreciate. However, if you have wider feet, it might feel slightly constrictive until broken in.

Another highlight is the X10 outsole, which promises durability without compromising flexibility. Runners who frequently put their shoes to the test will appreciate this aspect, as it ensures that your investment lasts longer.

While the pricing might deter some, the quality and performance of the Mizuno Wave Sky 7 justify the cost for serious runners. If comfort, support, and sustainability are your priorities, this shoe stands out as a top contender in the market.

Great Mizuno Shoes

Loved this particular model of the Mizuno wave series. Very stable shoe but fairly light weight feeling. Has a bit of a spring to it which has made running more enjoyable and fun. Over 150 running miles in them so far a they still look and feel like they are going to be with me for many more miles.

Great support and cushion

Best running shoe I have worn to date. The otter sole wears slower than the center, so expect some change as the shoe wears.

Quite expensive, but comfortable...

I can not wear most Nike and a few other brands because I end up my day with painful shoes archs. So most of my shoes are ASICS. However, I must give these credit because they are very comfortable.

Closer to the 3 than the 6

These are a great update. The 5 and 6 models didn't really work for me as they were pretty unstable and the fit even in the wide was tight and a touch short. In addition the archway in the previous 2 models was narrow which led to that instability. These work really well for me. I am a 15 wide that needs the width in the platform more than the upper. So more a flipper type foot than a beefy fred flinstone. These don't have too volume that I'm murder lacing the laces (I'm looking at you brooks 4e since your 2e is a narrow platform) and while they're not correcting pronation my foot isn't sinking unevenly into the cushion unevenly (I'm looking at you asics nimbus 25). The cushioning isn't super soft, it's dense enough that you don't feel like your bottoming it out aggressively but soft enough to make for a smooth and comfortable ride. This is a great shoe for larger runners.

A Cushiony, Springy Ride

I got my husband these Mizuno Men's Wave Sky 7 Running Shoes. He's an avid runner, and he says these are his favorite running shoes ever. That's saying a lot, because he's been running for years and has tried a ton of different brands and styles. He says his favorite thing about these Mizunos is the cushioning, which provides comfort, support, and a noticeable spring in his step. If you prefer a more barefoot feel, these might not be the shoes for you. But if you're looking for a cushiony, springy ride, these are an excellent option.

Ok, but not impressed

I usually wear Brooks or Saucony, so that is my comparison point. I like the look. They seem to be made well and feel very lightweight, like abnormally lightweight. However, where it matters most, they don't pass the test for me. First, they just aren't comfortable. I feel like there is no cushion. Second, even though I ordered wide, which fit fine in other shoes, but they feel tight and narrow. For me, I wouldn't order it again.Hope that helps.

Great cushioned running shoe

This review is based on my initial impressions after only a few runs totaling about 12 miles. For background, I'm almost 50, 5'10" and 195 lbs, and have been running since I was 20 years old ... which is to say that I've reached the age where everything hurts all the time, and I've transitioned from lightweight fast shoes into shoes with more cushion because of my constant sciatic pain.I have been running primarily in Hokas for the past 5-6 years, and these are very similar to both the look and feel of the Hoka Cliftons that I've grown fond of. The Hoka has a 5 mm drop whereas these Mizunos have an 8 mm drop ... the drop has always been my biggest complaint with Hokas because (at least for me) the short drop limits the calf stretch through the push off in the toe (i.e., I don't feel like I'm fully rolling my stride from heel to toe so my anterior calf gets tight). That's been a tradeoff I've lived with because in addition to needing the cushion, I had a terrible calf tear about 12 years ago and despite physical therapy and 6 months recovery, my gastrocnemius still hurts when running in the more typical 10-12 mm drop running shoes. These Mizunos are a nice balance, giving me slightly more drop but not as much as a speed shoe. I noticed less calf pain than normal and a fuller stretch through my stride, and the cushion was fantastic (the sciatica is still there, the cushion just helps minimize it worsening during the run). I typically wear a size 10.5, and these fit as expected (I ordered 10.5) ... in the Hokas I wear a 10 because of the width of the toe box, and I did find these Mizunos to be just a bit narrower. I have a slightly wider foot than average, so I think the shoe is sized right, it's my foot that is sized wrong. The shoe has a flexible woven upper so even though my foot may be a couple millimeters too wide I did not feel constricted at all, and after a couple runs they felt broken in well. This is my first pair of Mizuno running shoes since my early 20's, and assuming the next 350 miles on these are as good as the first dozen miles, I'll definitely turn to this model again.
