The La Sportiva Akasha II shines primarily in breathability. The 3D AirMesh upper allows air circulation that helps keep your feet dry during long runs. Additionally, if you have wider feet or varying volume, this shoe’s accommodating design will be beneficial.
When it comes to traction, the FriXion XT outsole grips rocks and loose surfaces effortlessly, making it a reliable choice for adventurous trails. The trail rocker feature also contributes to a smooth transition from heel to toe, facilitating an uninterrupted run.
Another standout feature is the shock absorption provided by the dual-injection MEMlex EVA. This cushioning system allows you to tackle rugged terrains without feeling every bump, ensuring your long-distance runs are less taxing on the body.
In terms of stability, the STB stabilization technology helps maintain control, which is crucial when navigating uneven paths. Runners often praise this aspect as it enhances their confidence while running.
However, it is worth noting that some users may experience slight sizing discrepancies; therefore, trying them on before purchasing could be advantageous. It's also important to remember that while these shoes excel on trails, they may not perform as well on paved roads due to their aggressive tread pattern.

Depending on personal preference I’d recommend ordering at least a 1/2 size USA or more. I wear a 10.5 and I returned the 11.0 for an 11.5. Even without socks the 1/2 size larger was too small.
