I Bought this for my mom and she loves it, she uses it for everything walking and exercise. She told me she wants the same in all colors available.
I’ve been wearing Inov-8 trail shoes for around 10 years. They are great quality and last through the toughest OCRs. Inov-8 is the only shoe that I will hike or trail run in.
I've had over 20 pairs of your products and this is the most disappointed pair in my experience. I had always like the zero drop concept from where you start and the under toe area point of flexion, that produce a continuous massage to the feet as we walk or run. This new pair had deviated from the one successful concept from before. Please discontinue this particular design so people don't buy the wrong shoe. Don't fall into the trap of one shoe brand fit all concept or you will be no different than Nike or Reebok, dare I even say Converse. PLEASE go back to your minimalist design. Protection makes feet week.
The colors are cool. Nice cornflower blue with a raspberry kiss on the heel. The bright green insole can be removed if you need a specialty one. They are not attached at all. They may roll out when you pull your feet out. There is a tread on the insole but it is not obnoxious. Usually, I like a smooth insole but this pattern, even feeling it while barefoot is not bothersome. This shoe and even the toe box is not a thin mesh where you can feel the breeze as you walk or run. There is substance to the shoe. But there is not so much substance that the shoe feels heavy or bulky. There is padding around the ankle and tendon. I don't feel rubbing or chafing. I typically like to put a heel cushion, even in my sneakers, but I don't feel the need to do this. The tongue is attached to the side walls of the shoe. But everything lays smoothly inside. I like the fact that it is attached. I have not had the tongue do any slipping or sliding down into the shoe while wearing. The size is so spot in it is incredible. The support is in the exact perfect spots. This is not a cushioned shoe. It is not pillowy soft. It isn't like walking on bunny fluff and rainbow farts. But the support in all the perfect spots has me less fatigued in my feet and not so many cramps in my toes. While yes, I may switch to cushioned sneaks for some things, these will be some serious go to shoes for me.The soles are on a slight incline. Almost like a wedge. I feel like when I step I have just a bit of push from the shoe because of the incline. I have noticed that it is a bit easier to keep momentum once I am going. They really hype their tread. At first, I was not super impressed. It seemed like many other treads on many other sneaks that I have. Then I was outside in the rain and the soles got wet. Then I was impressed. These puppies had some GRIP after they were wet. When my feet hit the floor in the house usually, I slide a little no matter what kind of shoe I have on. I am clumsy. I stopped dead in my tracks. Now I am impressed. Dry walking or running your grip will be standard. On wet it will be great, and going from wet to dry, out of this world.I am sure there are things that I am forgetting that have impressed me. But sometimes for me I have a hard time justifying a bigger price tag. These I could do that. But I would also tell my daughter that these would be great shoes and encourage her to give them a try.
Best grip hands down but I could not figure out a way to tie them so that they didn’t cut into my foot or ankles. So sad they didn’t work.
Just a note on the fit before I start the review. I usually wear a 9, sometimes a 9 1/2. This shoe wasn't available in a 9, so I ordered the 9 1/2 and it fits well. So you might want to go up 1/2 size, especially if you wear thick athletic socks. These shoes boast about being non-slip and they are not kidding. I think I could climb a wall in these shoes! I'd definitely want them if I was walking somewhere slippery, hiking up a steep slope, walking over wet grass, etc.I also really like that it has a wide base (I'm not sure the right term). I have sprained my ankle so many times that it's weak and a little wobbly. If I don't set my foot down exactly right, I'll twist my ankle. I TRIED to step so my ankle would turn and these shoes just wouldn't let me. Definitely a plus for anyone with an uneven gait or weak ankles. The reason I took off one star is that they're hard. I'm used to a little cushioning or "give" when I step. There's no bounce to the soles on these shoes. Maybe that's the trade-off for the fantastic traction they have, but I don't think I would wear these for running, aerobics, or anything where you'd want them to absorb impact. But if you're looking for traction and stability, these are great options.Note: Edited for typos
They look really well made, the color is nice, not so shiny but not boring at all. They are on the heavy side for a shoe this type, but the grip is amazing, the fit is nice and tight and they are warm enough for winter. The sole is a bit rigid instead of super flexible, probably because they are still new.All in all great hiking shoes, they have a nice arch support, that's one of the first things my wife noticed when she first wore them. These will make sure your feet are always in the right position and you have a safe step, with no slack inside, non slip sole and great looks. My wife loves them.
