The Icebug Mens Pytho6 BUGrip Trail Running Shoe is designed for serious trail runners who demand top-notch performance without sacrificing sustainability. Sporting a striking dark blue and mint color scheme, this shoe not only looks good but also packs a punch in terms of functionality.
Constructed with an upper made entirely from recycled polyester, these shoes are Bluesign approved, ensuring that they meet stringent environmental and consumer protection standards. The TPU lining adds durability while the Ortholite Hybrid footbed provides excellent cushioning and support for your feet, making them ideal for long-distance runs on rugged terrains.
Product | Weight | Traction Type | Eco-Friendly |
---|---|---|---|
Icebug Mens Pytho6 BUGrip | Medium | Carbide Studded | Yes |
Salomon Speedcross 5 | Lightweight | Deep Lugs | No |
Merrell Trail Glove 5 | Lightweight | Vibram Sole | Partially |
When it comes to tackling tough trails, the Icebug Mens Pytho6 BUGrip shines, particularly in the grip department. The carbide-studded traction sole offers unparalleled stability on slippery and uneven surfaces, making them a solid choice for those who frequently run in adverse weather conditions.
The shoe's fit and comfort levels deserve special mention. With a lace-up closure system, you can easily achieve a snug and personalized fit, ensuring that your feet stay locked in place during intense activity. Additionally, the Ortholite Hybrid footbed contributes to enhanced shock absorption, which is essential for minimizing fatigue during long runs.
From a sustainable perspective, the use of recycled materials aligns with the growing trend towards environmentally conscious products. This thoughtful approach does not compromise performance, proving that it’s possible to have both functionality and responsibility.
However, it’s noteworthy that the Pytho6 may feel heavier compared to other minimalist trail running options. This weight might be something to consider if speed is your main focus or if you favor lighter shoes for racing. Furthermore, due to its aggressive tread, these shoes are not ideal for road running, as they could wear down quickly on smoother surfaces.
Overall, the Icebug Mens Pytho6 BUGrip Trail Running Shoe is a fantastic choice for trail enthusiasts who prioritize grip, comfort, and sustainability. Whether you're navigating rocky paths or slippery mud, these shoes will support your adventures with style and function.

Feel more secure waking on the ice
Nothing to dislike about Icebugs. We've had a particularly icy/snowy winter here so are an absolute must for walking outside where I walk with confidence.Slipperywearing inside public buildings, tho'.
I have had an ankle replacement 6 years ago. These shoes are a god sent.
This model of Icebug shoes has a nice wide toe box and decent length. Other styles have a narrower design. I have a wide foot and these are perfect, even with a winter running sock. Surprisingly light weight. Waterproof. These are perfect for road running, walking or on packed trails in areas where there is ice and snow.
Great shoes for winter trail running. Waterproof and the spikes give you some reassurance that you won’t slip.
My size is a 10.5, but these fit more like an 11-11.5. Ordering a 10, will update review then!
These shoes are beautiful, for a winter running shoe. But my son has wide feet and the shoes squished his poor toes. We tried lightly stretching the shoes on a shoe stretcher, but that fabric doesn't stretch.I wrote to the company to ask if any of their shoes run wider, or if they will carry wide shoes in the future. They said the shoe we ordered runs the widest of any of that brand. My hubby and I both live in our Ice Bugs all winter, so were hoping to get some for our son to keep his feet warm, and prevent those feet from slipping.
