The Hoka Women's Clifton 9 sneaker is a standout in the realm of running footwear. This ninth iteration of the award-winning franchise offers remarkable improvements in weight reduction while introducing an additional 3mm in stack height. The result? A daily running shoe that presents an exhilarating underfoot experience. With its innovative new foam and enhanced outsole design, the Clifton 9 is designed for those who prioritize comfort and performance.
One of the most notable changes is the upper, which has been meticulously crafted by removing overlays and hotmelts. This stripped-down design not only looks sleek but also enhances breathability. The plusher heel adds extra cushioning, while the reflective heel panel ensures visibility during low-light conditions. Additionally, the streamlined tongue with a single side medial gusset provides a secure fit, making this sneaker ideal for anyone seeking to elevate their running game.

When it comes to performance, the Hoka Women's Clifton 9 excels in providing a smooth and responsive ride. The combination of lightweight materials and generous cushioning allows for long-distance runs without compromising comfort. Whether you are a seasoned marathoner or a beginner, you will appreciate the support these sneakers offer.
In terms of aesthetics, the Clifton 9 maintains Hoka's modern design philosophy. Available in classic black and white, it pairs well with various outfits, making it suitable for both running and casual outings. The stylish design combined with functional features like the reflective heel panel enhances its practicality for outdoor runners.
While the Clifton 9 shines in many areas, some runners may find the plush cushioning a bit excessive if they prefer a firmer feel underfoot. Moreover, the limited color options might not appeal to those who enjoy more vibrant choices. It’s also advisable to try before you buy, as some users have reported inconsistencies in size.

Joking aside though - I bought these shoes so I could start walking more and keep my feet from being so sore. A few days after I got these I stubbed my little toe during the night on the way to the bathroom. It hurt but not the kind of hurt that makes your eyes water, nose run and leaves you shaking. So I thought maybe I snagged my toenail...eh no big deal. So I got up in the morning and got dressed in the dark and had to spend the day taking care of my grandpa so am normally on my feet doing chores and checking on him. I wore these shoes. I felt my toe during the day a few times but really didn't even think about it that much. I got home that evening and decided to check out my toe... holy crap was I surprised... my toe was 100% broken. It was purple and swollen all the way up my foot and the toe next door. I say all this because I did not feel any pain while on my feet with a broken toe in these shoes! They are roomy, but supportive, no pressure points anywhere and feel like you're walking on cloud. They are worth the price tag.
These running shoes are my favorite pair that I own. They are surprisingly lightweight, yet there’s lots of cushioning. I wear 8.5D, and I ordered the wide. I need a bigger toe-box, though the rest of my foot is slim. There is a second set of wholes on the top in order to provide a firm fit around the top rim of the shoe. (Look online for different ways to string your shoes.) Hokas are the way to go for stability when running/walking. Peace.
These shoes are probably the most expensive sneakers that I have bought, and they are the BEST fitting, BEST comfort, and BEST overall looking as well! If you are on the fence, try them out for yourself!
Good shoes
I tried two other brands that were supposed to be better than these, but they were not comfortable on the top of my feet. Decided to give these a try and I don’t have any complaints. They are comfortable, sturdy, and my feet like them.
These shoes are very comfortable. They have plenty of cushion in the bottom so it is easy on your back and hips when walking. It takes a minute to get used to them but worth the try.
I got these shoes because I love my Clifton 8s; however, these are not nearly as soft, springy, or comfortable as the prior version. With my return (item is prime eligible with free returns) the seller's communication was rude and ended up charging a restocking free, that Amazon customer service said was unjust and gave a refund for the seller's fee. I would not recommend the shoe, and definitely wouldn't recommend this seller
Bought these for my sister for secret Santa gift and she said she will never wear another sneaker! She LOVES her HOKAs!
