The Hoka Speedgoat Trail Running Shoes are designed to tackle any trail with speed and agility. Inspired by ultra-runner Karl Meltzer and his experiences in challenging environments like the Speedgoat 50k, these shoes feature a complete redesign optimized for technical trails. With a slightly softer EVA midsole and 4mm Vibram rubber lugs, the Speedgoat excels at handling rough terrain, giving you the confidence to push your limits.
The shoe's upper offers robust support throughout the forefoot, featuring an innovative ground-rubber toecap that enhances protection against the elements while maintaining a lightweight profile. If you're seeking a reliable companion for your most demanding trail runs, the Speedgoat is a strong contender.

The Hoka Speedgoat Trail Running Shoes shine in various crucial categories, making them a popular choice among trail running aficionados:
The full-length IMEVA midsole delivers remarkable comfort, thanks to its high level of cushioning that absorbs shock effectively. The softer padding around the tongue adds to this comfort, allowing you to run longer distances without discomfort.
Equipped with 4mm Vibram rubber lugs, the traction offered by the Speedgoat is impressive. You will find ample grip even on challenging terrains, thanks to its strategically designed outsole.
Constructed from synthetic materials and featuring a robust upper, these shoes are built to last. The external debris screen prevents dirt and rocks from entering, enhancing their longevity during prolonged use.
The No Sew SpeedFrame technology provides excellent midfoot support without compromising on breathability. The shoe feels secure on your foot, minimizing the risk of blisters and irritation over long runs.
When it comes to overall performance, the Hoka Speedgoat excels across the board. This makes it an ideal choice for not just casual joggers but serious trail runners as well.

These shoes are amazingly comfortable. They are great for running on maintained trails. I wouldn't recommend for off-trail or scrambling. The relatively high sole rise causes some sloshing on uneven terrain. The La Sportiva's are better for rougher terrain, but not as comfortable.
Grandson really liked these and has worn them everyday
This one particular pair had to have a defect on the right shoe because as soon as I put them on, the arch on my right foot started hurting. Walking around the house was hurtful, so I did not dare to run in them. I returned them. I got a different pair from a store, after trying them on, and had no issues. I can say it is a very nice shoe, airy and with a solid sole. It is really not good for running on asphalt/concrete or solid level surfaces, but on rough trails is great. It is not great for hiking.
Love my Hokas!
Another great shoe.
Bomber shoe but overly pronated. I thought it would be more neutral. I couldn't use my orthidic.
Great!
Everyone I know who has worn this shoe has had the same problem. In between the outsole pattern, you get a lengthwise split in the midsole. Very poorly built shoe. I had the split happen after just 2 runs. I purchased from an "unauthorized retailer," and Hoka One One would do absolutely nothing for me. Do NOT buy this shoe. Another problem is the extremely narrow toe box, but that is secondary to the shoe simply falling apart. C'mon Hoka. You've lost my loyalty.
